Here you’ll find three gas ovens that drop into an outdoor kitchen island. If you’re planning a built in outdoor pizza oven, you’re in the right place. We’ll help you check fit, fuel and power against your setup. Each built-in pizza oven can be ordered for natural gas or propane. Compare the cooking area with what you plan to cook, whether that’s a 12 inch pizza or a roast. Allow about 25 minutes of preheat time so the pizza stone heats through for even cooking.

How to choose a built-in pizza oven

Start with the product's cutout specifications, whether you have a counter or are choosing a finished outdoor kitchen island. You'll need a non-combustible countertop and 18 inches of clearance from anything that burns. Order your gas pizza oven for natural gas or propane pizza oven versions on the product page. Later conversions go through the dealer. The two thermostat ovens need a 120 volt weatherproof outlet for ignition, thermostat and interior light. For heat control, you set the thermostat and the oven holds that temperature.

Other ways to get pizza outdoors

If you want wood flavor, consider a hybrid pizza oven that burns gas or wood. It sits on the countertop, so it's an alternative if you don't need a drop-in.

The brands

Fire Magic makes the two thermostat ovens with a ceramic stone, baking rack and wooden peel. Videl makes the 30 inch two-burner oven. Visit Videl's pizza oven page to compare its cooking area and temperature range.

Questions we hear most

What cutout does a built in pizza oven need?

The opening depends on the oven. Both Fire Magic ovens share their brand's 30 inch grill cutout. Check each product page's specifications for exact dimensions. You'll need a non-combustible counter and 18 inches of clearance from anything that burns.

Does a built in pizza oven need electricity?

The thermostat ovens need a 120 volt weatherproof outlet at the island. A battery pack option runs the ignition if your island has no power. The gas line is separate from the electrical connection.

Can I cook more than pizza in it?

Yes. With a Fire Magic built-in pizza oven, lower the temperature and use the included baking rack to bake bread and pies or roast vegetables and meat. The glass oven door and interior light let you watch without opening it.

Can a built in pizza oven stay outside all winter?

Yes. These outdoor appliances have stainless steel bodies made for permanent outdoor use. Keep your oven covered between uses so the finish stays clean. Fire Magic lists an optional protective cover for both of its ovens.
