DuraVent DVL includes black stove pipe lengths, adapters, elbows and connector parts for the run between your wood stove and chimney. This DuraVent double wall stove pipe keeps the connector inside the room while allowing closer wall clearance than a single-wall connector. You can choose straight, adjustable or telescoping lengths to fit the space. Start with your stove outlet diameter and the route to the chimney.

What DVL does inside the room

Air between the walls allows 6 inches of wall clearance and 8 inches of ceiling clearance. The stainless steel inner wall keeps flue gas temperatures high for a strong, steady draft and less creosote. This double-wall stovepipe is required for a wood stove installation in a manufactured home, but must never be enclosed or pass through a wall or ceiling. Compare double-wall connectors with DuraVent DuraBlack, the single wall stove pipe that needs 18 inches of clearance.

The pieces of your run

Start with a standard or recessed-collar stove adapter, with a damper if the stove manual requires one. Match the outlet diameter using 6, 7 or 8 inch pipe, with an increaser where needed and a decreaser only if the stove maker allows it. The pipe cannot be cut, so combine straight lengths with adjustable lengths or use a telescoping length.

Use elbows for turns or a tee with a clean-out cap for a rear outlet. At the ceiling support box or wall thimble, select the adapter required for your support and chimney line. DuraVent DuraTech and DuraPlus chimney systems have their own parts, which are not interchangeable. Our stove and chimney pipe range shows the other options.

For a straight-up run beneath an 8 foot ceiling, consider the 6 inch close clearance connector kit in our wood stove chimney kits. It comes with a top adapter, two 24 inch lengths and a 12 inch adjustable section. The chimney, support box and stove outlet connector are their own listings.

Your connector pipe questions

What is a DVL pipe?

It is an indoor wood stove connector with a stainless steel inner wall, a black outer wall and air between them. It allows 6 inches of wall clearance and 8 inches of ceiling clearance. The hot inner wall supports steady draft with less creosote.

Is DuraVent DVL class A chimney pipe?

No, it is connector pipe that stays inside the room and must never be enclosed. It cannot pass through a wall or ceiling. At the support box or wall thimble, the required adapter connects it to chimney pipe such as DuraTech or DuraPlus.

No, this pipe cannot be cut. Use the longest straight lengths that fit with an adjustable section, or a telescoping length from stove to ceiling. Subtract 3/4 inch per joint when measuring a DVL run.
