Harvia Legend 150, 240 and 300 stoves

Made in Finland, these Finnish wood stoves surround the firebox with an open black steel frame of stones for soft, moist heat that lingers. A cast iron frame holds the glass door, and the firebox splits its air to burn cleaner. You can pour water on the stones for a burst of steam. Compare the Harvia range, all sauna heaters or our wood burning stoves.

Three sizes

The 150 covers 212 to 459 cubic feet, holds 264 pounds of stones and stands 30 inches tall beneath ceilings as low as 69 inches. Harvia Legend 240 SL and Duo models cover 353 to 848 cubic feet with 440 pounds of stones, and the SL stands 32.7 inches tall. The 300 covers 494 to 988 cubic feet with 572 pounds of stones and stands 41 inches tall. Compare the closed Pro stoves or the narrow Linear models for another wood burning sauna heater.

SL, Duo, GreenFlame and the package

The 150 SL and 240 SL let you load wood through the wall. The 240 Duo and 300 Duo face the next room as a fireplace. The GreenFlame Legend 240 uses the cleaner burning GreenFlame firebox. The 150 package includes six boxes of stones, a 59 inch insulated chimney kit with rain cap, roof flashing and ceiling pass through, a 39 inch extension, the WL200 panel and a steel floor plate.

Chimney, stones and the sheath

Outside the package, choose your chimney kit, extensions and adapter to 6 inch US pipe on the page. Add six boxes of stones for a 150, ten for a 240 or thirteen for a 300. The WL200 black steel panel hangs beside the stove to reduce safety distances to wood walls and benches, and you can use one panel or up to three. A floor plate and pipe-mounted water tank are optional.

Your questions answered

Which Harvia Legend size do I need?

The 150 covers 212 to 459 cubic feet, the 240 covers 353 to 848, and the 300 covers 494 to 988. They hold 264, 440 and 572 pounds of stones respectively. Multiply your room's length, width and height in feet to find its cubic feet, then call us.

What do SL and Duo mean on a Harvia Legend?

SL means a longer firebox lets you load wood from the dressing room or outside while the stones heat the sauna. Duo adds a wide glass door in a brushed stainless steel frame facing the next room as a fireplace. The 240 Duo flue connects at the back or top.

Does a Harvia Legend come with a chimney and stones?

The standard stove box holds the stove, door, ash box and manual. You choose the chimney kit, extensions, adapter to 6 inch US pipe and boxes of stones on the page. The 150 package includes its chimney parts, stones, WL200 panel and floor plate, so nothing is added on the page.

Why does the Legend hold so many stones?

The open black steel frame holds 264 to 572 pounds of stones around the firebox. This large stone capacity gives soft, moist heat that lingers after the fire burns down. One WL200 sheath panel, or up to three, reduces safety distances to wood walls and benches beside your Harvia Legend.

How long does a Harvia Legend take to heat up?

Users report about 90 minutes for a Legend 240 on a cold winter day. An oversized 240 SL reportedly took two to two and a half hours. Owners say dry wood matters, the fire needs feeding every 20 to 30 minutes, and the stones hold heat for hours. The listings give no warm-up time for a Harvia Legend.
