The Golden Designs Karlstad is a six person outdoor hybrid sauna. Hybrid means it has both a traditional stove and infrared heaters, so you can choose a hot steamy sauna or a gentler warm-up. It has a modern cube shape and a dark espresso exterior built for rain and sun. Inside, Canadian red cedar and two rows of benches make room for six. A clear glass door lets the light in. It takes up about 79 by 84 inches of patio space.
Turn the switch to the Harvia 8 kW stove and the room reaches 170 to 185 degrees. Turn it to infrared and thirteen heaters warm you at a lower temperature. Only one runs at a time. Inside you get color lighting, a control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth, speakers, and a sandglass timer, bucket, and scoop. You get a Harvia 8 kW stove for traditional sessions and thirteen full spectrum emitters (four carbon PureTech near-zero-EMF panels plus nine near-infrared elements) for infrared sessions. The main power switch feeds one system at a time, never both. Golden Designs recommends infrared mode when it is 45 F or warmer outside and the stove whenever it is colder.
A single 240 V / 40 A service covers both the stove and the full spectrum heaters, per the page and the hybrid owner’s manual. Hardwiring must be done by a certified licensed electrician using 90 C rated copper wire with breaker and wire sizes set by local code. Aluminum wire, extension cords and receptacle adapters are not allowed.
The footprint is 79.2 x 84.3 in with an 88.3 in height, and the cedar interior is 75 x 67.2 in with 75 in of headroom for six. Assembled weight is 1,350 lbs. Plan a level concrete, paver, gravel, block or solid-deck base that carries that plus six bathers, and leave room for the clear glass door to swing.
Traditional mode is designed for 170-185 F with a 190 F ceiling; infrared mode runs at 118-132 F and must not exceed 140 F according to the owner’s manual. Keep sessions to 40 minutes, cool down before re-entering, and shut the sauna off for an hour after every four hours of use.
Yes. The espresso all-weather exterior is designed to sit in rain and sun, and the stove works at any outside temperature, so winter use is expected; infrared is the milder-weather mode. Cedar greys within one to two years without a UV protectant, minor seepage that dries during use is normal, and a rain cover is recommended when idle. Never use it in a storm.
The manual specifies three adults and nothing more than a battery or hand-held Phillips screwdriver. Pre-built panels arrive curbside on a pallet; you screw the floor, walls, roof and benches together, apply the adhesive roofing paper, then fit the stove wood guard. The stove and main power switch are wired by a licensed electrician.
The sandglass, bucket and scoop, oversize chromotherapy lighting, backrest accent light, LED control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth, and built-in speakers all come standard. Buyer may cancel and return the goods to Manufacturer, subject to the terms and conditions oft his policy. Golden Designs reserves the right to refuse to refund any deposit or payment, or cancel any payment due, and any owing until such time as Manufacture a) is in receipt of the goods b) has inspected the goods and c) in the Manufactures discretion, has found the goods to be free of damage. All refunds will be provided within 5 business days once the product has been returned to the warehouse and inspected for damage
All returned goods must be in their original packaging. Seller may refuse to refund all or any portion of any payment, or cancel payment due and owing if the Buyer fails to fully comply with or violates the terms and conditions of this policy.

I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
