DuraFlex aluminum liner coils, kits and fittings are here for relining a masonry chimney that vents a compatible gas appliance. This flexible aluminum liner is lighter than stainless steel. You can choose a 25 foot coil or a kit with chimney top parts, then add the connections your run needs. This page also holds thin 2 inch outside air tubing, which carries air to an appliance and never exhaust.

When DuraFlex Aluminum is the right liner

Use an aluminum chimney liner only for natural gas or propane appliances with a draft hood or a Type B gas vent listing. It suits a warm chimney inside the house. The liner diameter matches the appliance outlet or the incoming vent pipe, from 3 to 8 inches, and is never smaller than the flue size the appliance needs. For a cold chimney, DuraVent recommends double wall B vent for the upper section. Wood, pellet, oil and coal need DuraFlex stainless steel, not aluminum. Compare chimney liners before choosing.

What comes with the coil and kit

The aluminum flex liner comes in a 25 foot coil. The chimney liner kit adds a cap, top plate and mortar sleeve for the chimney wall opening. A taller chimney needs a second coil and coupling. Use the kit builder to choose the liner and parts together. The whole job is a reline of the existing chimney, done after the chimney is checked. Have the chimney checked before installation, cleaned if it previously vented wood or oil, and inspected each year.

Bottom fittings and outside air tubing

A female flex adapter joins the liner to Model BV gas vent. A universal adapter connects to any brand of B vent pipe. The tee with cap gives cleaning access where the vent enters the chimney wall. The 2 inch tubing carries outside air, not exhaust, to an appliance vented with PolyPro. Its coupler joins the intake tubing to that system, and a hanger bracket supports it.

Your liner questions

Can DuraFlex aluminum vent a pellet stove or insert?

No, aluminum is only for natural gas or propane appliances with a draft hood or a B vent listing. A pellet stove or insert needs a stainless steel liner. Wood, oil and coal appliances also need stainless rather than aluminum.

Is an aluminum liner OK for a wood stove?

No, a wood stove needs a stainless steel liner insulated for wood. Wood smoke, creosote and heat rule out aluminum. Aluminum is the lighter choice for a compatible gas furnace, boiler, water heater or B vent gas fireplace.

How long a liner do I need, and can it be cut?

Measure from the appliance vent connection to the chimney top and add 4 to 5 inches. Extend the 25 foot coil to the needed length without exceeding its stated length. Taller chimneys need a second coil and coupling for the DuraFlex aluminum liner.
