DuraVent commercial venting includes FasNSeal stainless steel and PolyPro plastic systems for high efficiency gas boilers, furnaces and water heaters. Your appliance manual tells you which vent type and diameter to use. This page holds the lengths, fittings, adapters, supports and terminations a run is built from, for residential and light commercial jobs.

Stainless or plastic: which system does your appliance need?

Start with your appliance manual, not the appearance of the pipe. DuraVent FasNSeal is a special gas vent for hotter, pressurized exhaust and acidic condensate. DuraVent PolyPro is a polypropylene vent for cool, wet exhaust from condensing gas appliances. Some appliances allow both systems, but their parts are not interchangeable. The right application is the one your appliance is listed for, and using the listed vent is what keeps the run safe.

What a FasNSeal run is built from

FasNSeal comes in single wall and W2, in inside diameters of 3 to 16 inches. W2 is a double-wall vent with a half inch air space between its inner and outer walls that shields heat and reduces the distance needed to materials that can burn. W2 stays uncut, so adjustable lengths make up the distance.

Appliance adapters fit particular boiler brands, while wyes join branches only where the appliance maker approves. Termination cones narrow the outlet to move exhaust faster and limit rain entry. FasNSeal Flex belongs to our chimney liners family for carrying exhaust up an existing masonry chimney.

What a PolyPro run is built from

PolyPro includes rigid pipe and flexible liner for condensing boilers and warm air furnaces as well as water heaters. Its concentric version puts the plastic exhaust pipe inside a powder coated aluminum air pipe so exhaust and combustion air share one opening. Its joints push together over a rubber gasket and use clamps to hold the connection.

B vent retrofit adapters let an old metal vent serve as a sleeve for PolyPro Flex. That retrofit needs DuraVent approval in Canada or appliance maker approval in the USA. For pellet stoves and approved gas appliances, see the separate CVS concentric venting system.

Older natural draft appliances use Type B gas vent, not these systems. Find DuraVent B vent in Model BV or browse our B Vent Pipe range. Neither FasNSeal nor PolyPro is for wood or pellet appliances. Visit the DuraVent brand page for other lines grouped by what they vent.

Your venting questions

Does DuraVent commercial venting need sealant?

PolyPro joints use rubber gaskets and locking clamps, or locking band clamps where pipe is cut. FasNSeal joints are gasketed and locked to hold pressurized exhaust. No sealant bead is needed on the pipe unless appliance instructions require it. Follow the manual for your line.

Is DuraVent a trusted brand for boiler and furnace venting?

DuraVent has made vent since 1956 and belongs to the Duravent Group. Its systems are tested and listed as complete systems, and boiler makers name FasNSeal and PolyPro in their manuals. We are an authorized dealer, and the full manufacturer warranty applies.

Can two appliances share one FasNSeal vent?

Sometimes, FasNSeal can connect high and lower efficiency appliances using an increaser wye from a smaller branch to a larger run, but only with appliance maker approval. PolyPro serves one appliance per vent. Check your appliance manual before choosing DuraVent commercial venting.
