SaunaLife barrel saunas in the Ergo Series give you three standard lengths and two wider designs to compare here. Choose an outdoor barrel sauna by how many people will bathe, then consider a plain back wall, rear window or glass front. The standard barrels are about 81 inches across, with room to stand up inside. You choose the heater package on the page, and that heater shapes the sauna experience in your backyard sauna.

What is a SaunaLife barrel sauna?

Each sauna barrel is an outdoor sauna built as a round thermo-spruce room with steel bands, a black shingle roof and curved, smooth thermo-aspen benches with backrests. Hand crafted in Northern Europe, it is a traditional sauna heated with rocks rather than infrared panels. Explore the full SaunaLife range or compare barrels from every brand.

Three lengths and two wider barrels

The E6 seats three people at about 59 inches long. The E7 seats four at about 71 inches, while the E8 seats six at about 87 inches. The store's barrel sauna kit page gathers them with kits from other brands.

The EE6G seats four and the EE8G seats six. Both are about 91 inches across, with two rows of deeper benches and more headroom. For a square alternative with a full glass front, consider the Cube Series.

Back wall, heater and kit

Plain models have a bronze tinted glass door and solid back wall. W models add a rear half moon window for daylight and a view. G models have a full glass front, which always comes with the wider EE barrels.

No heater is included, but each page offers room-sized electric sauna heater packages with controls and stones. The E7, E7W, E8, E8W and EE8G also accept your own wood burning stove. The kit includes staves, steel bands, benches, cradles, glass, roofing and a white LED light bar that dims by phone or remote. Two people assemble it in about a day.

Plain back wall, rear window or glass front: which should I pick?

Plain gives you a bronze tinted glass door and solid back. W adds a rear half moon window for daylight and a view. G adds bronze tinted panels beside the door, making a full glass front. On the E7 and E8 pages you can add either option, and on the E6 page the rear window.

Does a SaunaLife barrel sauna come with a heater, and can I burn wood?

No heater is included. Each page offers electric packages sized to the room, with controls and stones. E7, E7W, E8, E8W and EE8G accept your own wood burning stove instead. The E6, E6W, E7G, E8G and EE6G listings offer electric packages only, chosen on the page.

How long does it take to build a SaunaLife barrel sauna?

Two people build one in about a day. The kit includes staves, benches, a glass door or front, steel bands, a shingle roof kit, cradles and LED lights. You need a firm, level spot for the cradles that support your SaunaLife barrel sauna.
