This collection holds DuraTech 10 inch chimney pipe and matching components for runs up to 24 inches in diameter. You will find lengths, elbows, supports, shields and caps for big fireplaces, furnaces, boilers and pizza ovens. This is large diameter chimney pipe for outlets bigger than a typical house stove’s. Match the insulated chimney pipe to the venting system your appliance manual calls for.

What DuraTech LDC serves

This is the large diameter DuraTech, an all-fuel chimney system with heavier steel walls than the smaller line and insulation between a stainless steel inner wall and a galvalume or stainless steel outer wall. This DuraTech chimney pipe is class A chimney pipe, tested and listed for appliances fueled by wood, coal, oil or gas, including furnaces, boilers and water heaters. Sizes run from 10 to 24 inches in 2 inch steps for natural draft, not fan-forced exhaust. For wood burning fireplaces and other approved appliances, keep runs indoors where possible and maintain 2 inches of open clearance to combustibles. The 18 to 24 inch sizes are made to order and cannot be returned.

How your chimney run goes together

A masonry fireplace chimney can start on an anchor plate with damper, for wood or coal only, never gas, oil or factory built fireplaces. The round support box fits flat ceilings in 10 to 16 inch sizes and needs a finishing collar, while 10 inch DuraBlack joins with a slip connector. No stove pipe comes this large, so the chimney starts on the anchor plate, in the support box or at an outside tee. Our stove pipe range covers the connector pipe for the smaller sizes.

Use 15 or 30 degree elbows for offsets, with an elbow strap on every slanted length. The documented 10 to 16 inch wall route needs a tee with cap, support bracket, wall thimble and wall straps. Add the required attic, firestop and roof radiation shields, roof flashing, storm collar and chimney cap. The 10 to 16 inch sizes need ventilated flashing. A copper pot adapter replaces the cap on 10 to 16 inch runs.

When another DuraVent chimney is the right one

For a home wood stove, see DuraTech 5 to 8 inch. The air-cooled DuraChimney II serves fireplaces and shares the copper pot adapter. That shared adapter does not make the chimney parts interchangeable. Each line uses its own components.

Your chimney questions

What is the standard size chimney pipe for a wood stove?

Most home wood stoves take a 6 inch chimney, and some take 8 inch. Match the appliance outlet and never use a smaller diameter. The larger sizes here serve big fireplaces, furnaces, boilers and ovens rather than a typical house stove.

Are Selkirk and DuraVent chimney pipe interchangeable?

No, a chimney is tested as one maker's system. Every piece from the anchor plate or support box to the cap must belong to that line. These large diameter parts do not fit smaller DuraTech systems, other lines or another brand.

Do I need to add a little length to a DuraTech chimney?

Use uncut 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 inch sections, allowing for 1 inch lost per joint. The cap must stand 3 feet above the roof exit and 2 feet above anything within 10 feet. Send us your appliance model and sketch for DuraTech 10 to 24 inch.
