How to choose a BBQ island with a fridge
Start with the space you have for outdoor living. Compare straight islands for a wall or patio edge, L-shaped layouts for a second counter run, and corner islands sized to fit a patio corner. Check the island’s dimensions against your available space.
Next, choose what you want beside the fridge. The steel islands have a 36-inch four-burner or 42-inch five-burner gas grill, except for one 64-inch option built around a griddle. Larger options add a sink, double side burner, griddle or fire pit. One 108-inch island has a beverage center instead of a plain fridge.

Does the fridge in a BBQ island need to be outdoor rated?
Yes. Indoor fridges can struggle or fail in heat, sun, damp and cold. Outdoor use can also void their warranty. These islands include a fridge made for them. If you add your own, choose an outdoor rated refrigerator.
Can the fridge stay outside in winter?
The fridge can stay in the island, but most only run in mild cold. Well below freezing, empty, clean and unplug it, then cover the island until spring. In a mild climate, it can run year round.
Natural gas or propane for the grill?
Choose fuel for your BBQ island with a fridge when ordering. Natural gas needs a line, with no tank swaps. Propane uses a tank behind an island door. The electric grill island needs only an outlet, as does the fridge.
