A Napoleon Elevation electric fireplace gives you a traditional log-fire look without a gas line. Prefer a real flame? This series also includes gas options. You have six listings to compare across three kinds, each built into a framed indoor wall with split oak logs. Start with gas or electric, then choose between 36 inches wide and 42 inches wide to suit the space you are planning.

Napoleon Elevation: gas or electric, the same traditional look

All three kinds have split oak logs and fit a framed wall. Order the gas Elevation X for the fuel type you have, natural gas or propane. Real flames fill the firebox around one of three log sets, and an electric ember bed under the logs glows on its own in a color you choose. A direct vent gas fireplace needs no chimney. A sealed pipe through the wall or roof carries exhaust out and fresh air in. An interior wall can work if the vent pipe can reach outside.

For other gas choices, browse gas fireplaces across brands. Compare Altitude X for extra tall glass in the same two widths, or Ascent for shallower traditional, linear and see through versions.

The electric Elevation and Elevation X

Want a built-in electric fireplace? The X Electric plays wood or gas flame videos on a screen behind glowing split oak logs. Speakers add crackling sound. The Elevation without the X shows orange and yellow flames in three layers around the logs for depth, with no screen and no sound, and you can adjust the flame speed, brightness and the light colors above the fire.

You can plug the X Electric into a regular wall outlet, or have an electrician hardwire it for more heat. Both electric kinds run with or without heat and include a remote. Run either from your phone with the Napoleon Home app or by voice control through Google Home or Alexa.

Explore electric fireplaces across brands, including Element for a traditional oak-log built-in that also fits a mantel opening, and Astound for a wide modern look.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Napoleon Elevation a gas or an electric fireplace?

Both. The two gas units are the X in 36 and 42 inch widths, burning natural gas or propane and venting through a sealed pipe. The four electric units are the X and non-X in both widths, with no gas line or chimney.

What is the difference between the Elevation and the Elevation X?

On this page, the X comes as gas or electric, while the Elevation without the X is electric only. The X Electric uses screen flames and crackling sound. The non-X uses three flame layers with no screen or sound. Both electric kinds have split oak logs. When you compare quotes elsewhere, check the model letters so you are comparing the same fireplace, and call us if you want to talk it through.

What can I choose on the gas Napoleon Elevation X?

Choose natural gas or propane, then birch, driftwood or split oak logs. Pick brick, glass or reflective porcelain panels behind the fire. Optional fronts and trim finish the look. The blower and remote are included. Make your choices on the product page or call us.

How much heat does the electric Napoleon Elevation give?

It adds heat to its room, not the whole house. An electrician can hardwire the X Electric for more heat. You can run flames without heat. ECO mode runs the heater at half power. BOOST mode turns the heater and fan all the way up.
