Who makes Bromic?

Bromic Heating is an Australian outdoor heating company based in Sydney, and it runs its North American business from Irvine, California. Bromic outdoor heaters are designed and engineered in-house and built from stainless steel. Like sunshine, Bromic infrared heaters warm people and surfaces directly, holding up in a breeze better than air-warming heaters. Explore all patio heaters or compare other radiant heaters.

The four collections

Platinum suits a clean look with little glow. The Platinum Electric models have ceramic glass faces and cover up to 65, 108 or 143 square feet. The Platinum Gas models cover up to 160 or 215 square feet. For salt air, the Platinum Electric Marine versions match the electric coverage and heat output with marine grade stainless steel bodies.

Tungsten suits bigger spaces and colder nights, with a glowing honeycomb mesh face. The Tungsten Electric range covers up to 65, 100, 130 or 160 square feet. The Tungsten Gas range covers up to 160 or 215 square feet. The Tungsten Portable heater warms up to 215 square feet on wheels, without a gas line.

Eclipse brings heat and light over a table. The Eclipse Electric pendant warms up to 121 square feet with a dimmable LED ring. The Eclipse Portable version puts the same pendant on a weighted wheeled base when there is nowhere to hang it.

Cobalt suits a simple covered patio. The Cobalt Electric models have silver stainless steel bodies and quartz elements, covering up to 130 or 160 square feet. An adjustable bracket aims the heat.

Gas or electric, wall, ceiling or wheels?

Electric patio heaters are hard wired to their own circuit by an electrician and need no venting. Bromic gas heaters need a licensed gas fitter, a line, ignition power and fresh air. Compare gas patio heaters for open spaces or propane patio heaters if that fuel suits you.

Compare mounting options such as ceiling mounted heaters and wall mounted options for fixed seating. Mounted heaters sit at least 8 feet above the floor. Bromic ceiling heaters need model-specific clearance, so check the manual before choosing a pole or bracket. Explore heaters on stands or wheels where mounting is impractical, or heaters for restaurant seating for outdoor dining.

Running the heaters from your phone

Mounted heaters have no built-in switch, so choose a wall switch or controller as an add-on. The Affinity controls page holds On/Off for gas or electric Platinum, Tungsten and Cobalt, Dimmer for their electric models, and Eclipse for pendant heat and light. The Bromic Heating app runs them over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Your phone handles timers, schedules and heater groups.

Your questions answered

How do Bromic heaters work?

Radiant, or infrared, heat warms people and surfaces directly, like sunshine, rather than warming the air. That makes it useful outdoors in a breeze, with a bracket or head aiming warmth at the seats. Electric models use their own circuit, while gas models use natural gas or propane.

Which Bromic collection is right for my patio?

Choose Platinum for a clean look and little light, or Marine for salt air. Tungsten suits colder nights and greater heat needs, with a portable gas version on wheels. Eclipse combines heat and light over a table, while Cobalt suits covered patios. Call us if you are between two.

Should I choose a gas or an electric Bromic heater?

Electric heaters need an electrician and their own circuit, need no venting and can be dimmed on an enclosed patio. Mounted gas needs a gas fitter, a line and fresh air, offering up to 215 square feet from a 500 Series with on/off control. Tungsten Portable needs no gas line.

How many Bromic heaters do I need?

Listing coverage ranges from 65 square feet for small electric models to 215 for 500 Series gas and Tungsten Portable. Measure the seating area, not the whole patio, and choose sizes or multiple heaters aimed at the seats. Mounting height and wind matter, so call us to talk it through.

Are the heaters weatherproof?

They are weather resistant, not waterproof. The maker recommends mounting under a roof or cover, away from direct rain, and switching them off when not in use rather than leaving them on overnight. Platinum Marine has marine grade stainless steel and sealed elements for coastal patios, docks and boats.

Do Bromic heaters come with a controller?

Mounted heaters need an add-on wall switch or Affinity controller. Through your phone’s Bromic Heating app, On/Off switches gas or electric, Dimmer adjusts electric heat, and Eclipse controls pendant heat and light. Only the Eclipse Portable arrives with its controller and a wireless remote in the box.
