Explore propane griddles for outdoor kitchen islands and carts. If you want an outdoor propane griddle for an island without a gas line or a rolling station, start with size and placement. Nearly all the griddles here fit an island cutout, while several also work on a non-combustible counter or matching cart. Choose propane at checkout for a griddle set up for a tank.

How to choose your propane griddle

Choose a 15- or 16-inch cooking surface with one burner, a 30-inch plate with two burners, or a 41-inch plate with three. Each burner has its own knob. Plates 30 inches and wider give you two zones: hot to sear and gentle for other food.

Check the cutout dimensions for a built-in griddle, or choose a rolling griddle cart that matches your griddle. A wood or composite island needs an insulating liner. Several models also need a 120-volt outlet.

A 20-pound propane tank is the usual supply. Most lines need a hose and regulator added at checkout. For a tank beneath the griddle inside an island, check the manual: one brand requires floor-level vents and a secured tank.

Already have a gas line at the island? See the natural gas griddle range. Where no gas is allowed, compare the two plug-in electric griddles.

Frequently asked questions

Propane or natural gas for an outdoor griddle?

They cook the same. Propane suits an island without a gas line, a cart or a home without gas service. Natural gas suits a fixed spot with an existing line and no tank swaps. Choose by your setup.

Can I switch a propane griddle to natural gas later?

On most lines, yes: the other fuel's parts come in the box, and a qualified gas technician handles the switch. A couple of brands are built for one fuel, so choose carefully. If you're unsure, call us and we will talk it through.

Can I use a propane griddle indoors?

Only an indoor-rated griddle can go indoors, with ventilation and clearances required by local code. Le Griddle carries that rating; the other brands here are outdoor appliances. For spaces that prohibit gas, consider an electric griddle instead.
