This Finnmark sauna collection holds FD series indoor rooms with full spectrum infrared heaters or a combination of infrared heaters and a Harvia stove. Finnmark Designs is the maker behind these rooms. You can choose seating for one, two or four people, then check the floor space and electrical setup. For a home sauna, start with where it will stand and whether you want steam.

Who makes a Finnmark Designs sauna?

Finnmark Designs makes the FD series in its own factory and says it controls design, manufacturing and testing. The maker uses UL listed heaters and clear grade A Western red cedar from certified Canadian mills. These rooms pair mold-resistant Western Canadian cedar interiors with kiln-baked thermo-aspen exteriors that resist warping and rot. The full spectrum infrared rooms

A full spectrum infrared sauna combines carbon panels for gentle, all-over warmth with Spectrum Plus heaters for stronger direct heat. These rooms reach 170 degrees in about an hour and sit alongside our other infrared rooms. Every FD room has a glass door, ceiling red light lamps and Bluetooth speakers.

The FD-1 seats one person in about 37 by 38 inches, fits a bathroom corner and plugs into a standard household outlet. The FD-2 seats two side by side across the back in about 48 by 44 inches and also plugs in, suiting a spare room, basement or garage. The FD-3 seats four on a wide bench in about 71 by 45 inches and needs its own circuit wired by a licensed electrician.

The hybrid rooms with a Harvia stove

A hybrid sauna combines infrared and traditional heat, with a Harvia stove as its traditional sauna heater, plus stones and infrared heaters. Choose infrared warmth, a steam sauna, or both at once in these combination rooms. The infrared heaters reach 170 degrees, while the stove takes the room to 190 degrees.

The FD-4 seats two in about 49 by 49 inches. Its infrared side plugs into a standard household outlet, while its stove needs its own circuit wired by a licensed electrician. The FD-5 seats four in about 75 by 64 inches and needs an electrician for two circuits, including a hard wired stove line. Both have two tiers of benches, adjustable lighting color and phone control. The FD-3 and FD-5 suit a basement, home gym or large spare room.

What is in the box and what to add

Like our other room kits, these come as finished panels that screw together, with adjustable feet and a touchscreen control panel, while an electrician handles any required circuit installation. The hybrids include the stove and sauna stones, but a bucket and ladle are add-ons on the page. You can also choose a waterproof cover, room-sized vinyl seat cushion, cedar backrest, headrest and wood wax or oil. These are indoor rooms even with a cover. Your questions answered

What is the difference between an infrared Finnmark sauna and a hybrid one?

The FD-1, FD-2 and FD-3 use carbon panels and Spectrum Plus heaters, reaching 170 degrees in about an hour. The FD-4 and FD-5 add a Harvia stove for heat up to 190 degrees. Ladle water over the stones for steam, or run both heat sources together.

Can I put a Finnmark sauna together myself?

You can assemble the finished panels by screwing them together. Every kit has adjustable feet for an uneven floor. The FD-1 and FD-2 then plug into a standard household outlet, while the FD-3 and both hybrids need a licensed electrician for their circuits before use.

Does the room need an electrician?

The FD-1 and FD-2 use a standard household outlet without an electrician. A licensed electrician must wire the FD-3 circuit and the FD-4 stove circuit, while the FD-4 infrared side plugs in. The FD-5 needs two circuits, with an infrared outlet and a hard wired stove line.

How long does the room take to heat up?

The infrared rooms warm to 170 degrees in about an hour. In the hybrids, infrared heaters reach 170 degrees and the Harvia stove takes the room to 190 degrees. You can start the hybrid control panel from your phone.

Which Finnmark sauna fits my space?

The FD-1 takes about 37 by 38 inches, and the FD-2 takes about 48 by 44. Allow about 49 by 49 inches for the FD-4, 71 by 45 for the FD-3, or 75 by 64 for the FD-5. Call us to size your Finnmark sauna.
