This Primo ceramic grill collection holds five sizes as All-In-One packages or Kamado heads, plus the Jack Daniel’s Edition head. Choose an oval shape or the classic Round for your backyard. Think about how much you cook and where the grill will sit, then compare the included tools and cooking pieces before choosing a cradle package or a head alone.

Who makes Primo?

Primo is the only ceramic grill made in the USA, built by Empire Comfort Systems in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. A kamado has thick ceramic walls that hold heat and moisture. Primo's patented oval shape allows a hot side and a cooler side. Browse the store's charcoal grills page, or compare fuels on our BBQ Grills hub.

Pick your Primo by size

The Oval Junior has 210 square inches of cooking space for about eight burgers and sits on our portable grills page. The Oval Large has 300 square inches for about twelve burgers. The Primo XL grill is the Oval X-Large, with 400 square inches for about twenty burgers. The Primo XXL grill is the Oval XX-Large, with 500 square inches for about twenty eight burgers.

The Round has an 18.5 inch grate with 280 square inches for about ten burgers. Its head can replace a round grill in a table or island. The Jack Daniel's Edition head has branded ceramic and cooks like the standard X-Large.

All-In-One package or Kamado head

An All-In-One arrives assembled on a rolling cradle with side tables, a grate lifter and an ash tool. Oval packages add heat deflector plates, racks and a cast iron firebox divider. The Round's deflector and rack are add-ons. A Kamado head includes the firebox and stainless steel cooking grates, but no stand, tables, tools, deflectors or drip pan.

Swapping an All-In-One cradle for a cypress table or steel cart drops the starter accessories. Head options vary by listing, including a stand, Round cradle or Junior's Primo GO carrier for camping. Compare grills on cradles and carts for your patio. For a head, browse grills for counters and islands and islands and their components. Plan sturdy support for a head weighing 100 to 282 pounds.

Charcoal cooking on a Primo

Put lump charcoal in the firebox. The oval's divider keeps coals on one side so you can sear there and roast on the cooler side. Heat deflector plates allow indirect baking and smoking, making one grill versatile enough to sear, roast, bake and smoke. The Round cooks across a temperature range from 151 to over 850 degrees.

Your questions answered

Where are Primo grills made?

Empire Comfort Systems builds Primo in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The ceramic body, stainless steel grates and cast iron firebox divider come from that plant. My Cozy Outdoors is an authorized dealer for the brand.

What size Primo grill do I need?

The Junior suits a couple with room for about eight burgers. The Large holds about twelve for weekly family grilling. Choose the X-Large for about twenty or the XX-Large for about twenty eight when hosting. That is room for two whole briskets, four pork shoulders or a whole turkey. The Round holds about ten. Call us if you are between sizes.

What is the difference between an All-In-One and a Kamado head?

An All-In-One comes assembled on a rolling cradle with side tables, a grate lifter and an ash tool. Oval packages add deflector plates, racks and a cast iron firebox divider. A Kamado head comes with its firebox and stainless steel grates, but no stand, tools, deflectors or drip pan.

What Primo grill accessories can I add?

Choose deflector plates with racks or an extension rack on the listing. Options vary by model, including a Large half drip pan, X-Large fitted cover or Junior Primo GO carrier. We list no parts for a Primo on their own, so call us and we will talk it through.

How long does a Primo grill last?

The ceramic body weighs 100 to 282 pounds depending on size. The cooking grates are stainless steel, and the oval firebox divider is cast iron. The thick ceramic walls hold heat and moisture, so the grill cooks the same way session after session. Every listing carries the full manufacturer warranty.

Can a Primo hold a low temperature for an overnight smoke?

Thick ceramic walls hold steady low heat for overnight smoking. With vents open, the same grill climbs to searing heat. The Round listing gives a range of 151 to over 850 degrees. The firebox divider keeps coals on one side, while deflector plates shield food during slow cooking on a Primo grill.
