The Rosedale series suits you if you want a choice of controls and finishes. The Rosedale 2 includes electronic ignition, a blower, a remote control and ember bed lights. The Rosedale 3 offers a wider viewing area, an included remote with a thermostat and heat during a power outage. Its blower is optional. Both take birch or oak log sets.

The Oakville X3 and the Oakville X4 are the bigger inserts, best for a larger fireplace opening. They include a heat circulating blower and split oak log set. A dual burner fills the firebox with flame. The front and rear burners can run on their own. Napoleon's NIGHT LIGHT glows even when the fire is off. Choose electric for flames without venting

A Napoleon electric fireplace insert needs no gas line. The Rosedale 26 Electric and the Rosedale 29 Electric suit you if you want app controls and glowing split oak logs. They share the rough framing of the Rosedale 2 and the Rosedale 3 gas inserts. You can frame a new wall now and choose gas or electric later. ECO mode runs the heater at half power.

Match the fuel and fit to your fireplace

Gas uses direct vent liners through your chimney. Electric needs no venting. Measure the opening first, then pick a faceplate, backerplate or surround to cover the rest of it. Check your chosen model's installation requirements before you decide.

Do I have to open the flue with a Napoleon insert?

The gas inserts use the chimney. Two liners run up the existing flue, one for fresh air and one for exhaust. The flue must be at least 6 inches round. Electric inserts burn nothing and vent nothing, so the flue can be sealed off.

What size Napoleon insert do I need?

Measure the opening's narrowest width, height and depth. The Rosedale 2 needs about 27 inches wide by 18 tall, the Oakville X4 about 34 by 25. The Cineview inserts need less than 8 inches of depth. Call with your measurements and we will check the fit.

Do Napoleon fireplace inserts need to be cleaned?

Napoleon says a qualified technician should inspect and clean a gas insert and its venting at least once a year. Clean the glass only with an ammonia-free fireplace glass cleaner. Electric inserts have no burner or vent to service.
