This page holds every Narvi sauna heater we carry, six wood burning stoves designed and built in Finland, from a compact stove for a corner to a stove for a club room. Every Narvi on the store is a wood burning sauna stove. You can choose a compact body, a round shape or a stove with a water tank. Start with your room measurements, then choose the stones and flue parts on the product page.

Who makes Narvi heaters?

Narvi is a Finnish maker, and its Narvi sauna stoves are floor standing, each with a steel casing painted black. Each wood-burning sauna stove takes logs up to 13 inches long and comes with the stove and manual. You build a fire in the firebox without wiring, then ladle water over the heated stones for löyly, the steam of a Finnish sauna.

You can compare brands through the store's wood burning stoves. Our heater collection brings wood and electric options together, including the electric heaters we carry. For the room itself, browse all our saunas.

Stoves for small and medium saunas

The Kuru has a glass door and wooden handle. Its two sizes cover 283 to 494 or 353 to 706 cubic feet. At about 26 inches tall, it offers a compact shape.

The Luosto is round, about 20 inches across, and fits a corner in rooms of 283 to 706 cubic feet. The Luosto VS adds a water tank holding about 8 gallons, warmed by the fire for washing or ladling over stones. The NC Black has a plain shape and adjustable feet, with three sizes covering 283 to 565, 353 to 706 or 353 to 848 cubic feet.

Stoves for family and big rooms

The Kaamos is a 21 kW family stove for 353 to 706 cubic feet. Its 132 pounds of stones help keep the heat even for a traditional sauna experience. For a club room, the larger stove offers a 24 kW size for 706 to 1236 cubic feet or a 50 kW size for 1589 to 2472 cubic feet. If you are choosing a backyard sauna building, check its room measurements first.

Stones, flue parts and fitting

Add stones on the page by the box, with two boxes for small stoves, three for the family stove and more for the large stove. The flue system is not in the box. Choose the flue parts and adapter to 6 inch US pipe on the page.

Most stoves have top or back exits, while the Luosto VS uses only the top and the NC Black needs a separate connection pipe for a top exit. Add the protective wall shield or floor base on the page for a stove near a wood wall. Multiply your room's length, width and height in feet to find its size in cubic feet. If you are comparing wood stove brands, you can also look at HUUM wood stoves.

Your questions answered

Are Narvi sauna heaters good?

Every stove is designed and built in Finland with a steel body painted black. Several have adjustable feet to level them on uneven floors. The family stove holds 132 pounds of stones to help keep heat even. Every listing carries the full manufacturer warranty.

What size Narvi stove do I need?

Multiply your room's length, width and height in feet for cubic feet. Choose a range covering it: small and medium stoves span 283 to 848, the family stove 353 to 706, and large sizes 706 to 1236 or 1589 to 2472 cubic feet. Call us with your measurements.

What chimney does a Narvi stove need?

The flue system is not in the box. Choose flue parts and the adapter to 6 inch US pipe on the page. Most stoves allow top or back exits, while the water tank stove uses only the top. Call us and we will talk the parts through.

Are the sauna stones included?

No, the box contains the stove and manual. Add stones on the page by the box, with two for small stoves, three for the family stove and more for the large stove. Check the stones yearly and replace any that have cracked.

Should I go a size up on a Narvi stove?

Owners say choose the next size near the range's upper limit. Uninsulated walls or a glazed door also need more heat. A slightly oversized stove allows a smaller fire, while an undersized stove cannot easily be made hotter. Call us with your measurements and wall build.

How long does a Narvi stove take to heat the sauna?

One owner reports about an hour with the mid size plain stove in a well insulated 6 by 8 foot sauna with an 8 foot ceiling. Timing depends on the room, insulation and wood. Owners report adding a few more pieces of wood after the session to dry the room.

Why is the steam from a Narvi stove so soft?

A large stone mass above the firebox holds heat in the rock. Water ladled over those hot stones becomes a soft burst of steam called löyly. The generous stone compartments in the round and family models help a Narvi sauna heater hold heat between ladles.
