A pool fire bowl sits on a pool wall, spa edge or pedestal, with a flame rising from lava rock in the center. Every bowl here is by The Outdoor Plus, handmade in the USA. Most combine fire and water, pouring into the swimming pool below while the fire burns. Others give you the same shapes without the water feature. When choosing a fire bowl for pool walls, start with where you want the fire feature and whether you want a spill beneath it.

Pool fire bowls: fire, or fire and water

Choose a front scupper for one wide sheet of water, or a wide spill nearly the bowl’s full width. Other choices include gravity spill, twin parallel spills, four-way spill, a 360 spill over the rim, a wave scupper and a linear water curtain.

Compare our fire and water bowls with The Outdoor Plus plain bowls. To repeat the shape without another flame, pair them with water bowls. Many pools use two matching bowls, one at each end of the wall, for poolside symmetry. You can find the self-contained fountain columns we offer for patios without pools in our full fire and water bowl collection.

Finishes, sizes and fuel

Shapes range from round cones and half-spheres to square bowls and linear troughs. Bowls span 24 to 48 inches; troughs reach 72 inches. Choose hammered copper for a blue-green patina, or glass-fiber concrete in 18 colors, including wood grain. Stainless steel and powder-coated steel are also available.

Order for natural gas or propane. Natural gas is usual by a pool; propane uses a tank in an optional pedestal. Match lit is standard, with electronic push-button ignition optional. You can choose optional fire glass instead of lava rock.

FAQ

Should a pool fire bowl run on natural gas or propane?

Natural gas is usual by a pool when a line can reach the wall, with no tank to hide. Propane works without that line, using a tank in an optional pedestal. Every bowl here is ordered for either fuel.

Do pool fire bowls need professional installation?

Yes, a gas fitter connects the gas line. A pool builder or plumber handles the water line and pump for a fire and water bowl. The supplied bracket supports the bowl. Plan these connections before the wall is finished.

How far should a fire bowl be from the pool?

Pool fire bowls sit on the wall or a pedestal in the water. Follow the manual’s required distances from overhangs, plants and walkways. Keep bowls away from where people climb out. A freestanding seating fire pit belongs back from the water.
