This DuraVent collection holds stove pipe, chimney pipe, liners and vents for wood, pellet and gas appliances. You can browse the lines below by what they vent and where the pipe goes. Start with your appliance manual, which names the venting system you need. Then use the line pages to check the diameter and plan the route from your appliance to the outside.

Who makes DuraVent?

The maker began in 1956 with Type B gas vent. It developed the first pellet vent, PelletVent, and first direct vent pipe, DirectVent. Earlier names include Simpson Dura-Vent and M&G DuraVent. The company belongs to the Duravent Group today, and the maker's own DuraBlack guide is marked Made in the USA.

For a wood stove

DuraBlack single-wall stovepipe connects your stove to the chimney inside the room, with 18 inches of clearance to combustibles. DVL is DuraVent double wall stove pipe with 6-inch wall clearance. Compare both in our DuraVent stove pipe collection. Every line has the elbows, supports and components a run needs, so nothing is mixed from another maker.

Stove pipe never passes through walls or ceilings. DuraTech 5 to 8 inch is insulated double-wall chimney, also found in our class A chimney pipe. DuraPlus is the triple wall chimney with insulation plus an air space. The DuraVent through the wall kit and the other ready made kits are built on it. Our wood stove chimney kits also cover through-the-ceiling and manufactured home routes.

For a fireplace

DuraChimney II is air-cooled double-wall chimney in 8 to 16 inch sizes, built to order. DuraChimney II starts on an anchor plate over the fireplace and is built to order, so you measure first. DuraTech 10 to 24 inch serves large fireplaces, furnaces, boilers and pizza ovens. Your fireplace manual must approve the chimney line.

For a pellet stove

PelletVent Pro is DuraVent pellet stove pipe with a stainless inner wall, in 3 and 4 inch sizes. PelletVent is the older line in those sizes. Compare these on our pellet stove venting page. CVS concentric venting carries exhaust and outside air through one route for pellet stoves and approved gas appliances.

For a gas fireplace, stove or water heater

DirectVent Pro uses a pipe inside a pipe for sealed gas fireplaces and stoves. DirectVent Pro 8x11 serves larger approved fireplaces. Browse our direct vent gas fireplaces and check the appliance manual. Model BV is DuraVent B vent for natural-draft gas water heaters, furnaces, boilers and B vent fireplaces, also grouped under Type B gas vent pipe.

For an old brick chimney

DuraFlex Stainless Steel relines masonry chimneys for wood, pellet, oil or gas. DuraLiner is insulated rigid liner for wood stoves or inserts. DuraFlex Aluminum is for gas appliances only. Compare these chimney liner systems against your appliance requirements and existing chimney.

For a high efficiency boiler, furnace or water heater

The Commercial venting page groups two lines for high efficiency gas appliances. FasNSeal stainless steel venting handles pressurized exhaust and acidic condensate. PolyPro polypropylene venting serves condensing boilers, furnaces and water heaters, with rigid, flexible and concentric options. Both lines are made for the condensate these appliances produce, and the manual says which one the appliance is listed for.

How to find the right line

Follow the appliance manual for vent type and diameter, never reducing the outlet size unless permitted. Follow the manual's installation instructions for your chosen line. The lines are tested as complete systems for safety, so do not mix their parts. Match a DuraVent chimney cap or DuraVent wall thimble to the chosen line. Many lines have kit builders for selecting a complete run on one page.

Common venting questions

Is Simpson DuraVent the same company?

Yes, Simpson Dura-Vent and M&G DuraVent are earlier names of the same maker, and the lines are the same pipe under the present name. Older manuals and boxes still carry the old name. The company dates from 1956 and is now part of the Duravent Group.

Who makes DuraVent and where is it made?

The brand is a venting manufacturer founded in 1956, now part of Duravent Group. It began with Type B gas vent and sells in the USA and Canada. The maker's own DuraBlack guide is marked Made in the USA.

Are DuraVent and DuraTech the same pipe?

DuraVent is the brand, and DuraTech is one of its chimney pipe lines, the insulated double wall class A chimney for wood stoves. DuraBlack and DVL connect wood stoves to chimneys inside the room. Other lines serve fireplaces, pellet stoves, gas appliances and masonry chimney relining.

Does the pipe need to be sealed?

It depends on the line, so follow its manual. DuraBlack uses three screws per joint without sealant, while DuraTech, DuraPlus and Model BV twist and lock without sealant. DirectVent Pro needs sealant only where the appliance maker requires it. PelletVent Pro and CVS use gasketed joints.

Which pipe do I need for my appliance?

Start with the appliance manual for the approved vent type. Match the pipe diameter to the appliance outlet, reducing it only if the instructions allow. Send us the appliance model and a sketch of the run and we will write the parts list for DuraVent.
