A wood stove pipe kit, also called a wood stove chimney kit, brings the awkward parts of your run together in one box. You choose the route and add pipe to suit your house. Here you can compare chimney kits, room-side stovepipe kits, elbow kits and build-your-own options without hunting piece by piece. A wood stove chimney pipe kit is not a complete run, so check each box before choosing.

Which wood stove pipe kit fits your route?

The three 6 inch DuraPlus chimney kits cover different routes. The through the ceiling kit includes stovepipe adapters, a square ceiling support box, roof flashing, a storm collar and a chimney cap for a straight run up through a flat or vaulted ceiling. The through the wall chimney kit includes a wall thimble, adapters, a short chimney length, a tee that turns the chimney upward, wall straps, a tee support bracket and a cap for a run out through the wall and up the outside. With wood stove pipe kits through the wall, only chimney pipe passes through the sleeve, never single wall stove pipe. The manufactured home kit includes the same ceiling parts plus two 24 inch chimney lengths for a stove listed for manufactured home use.

The room side and the elbows

Both room-side kits suit an 8 foot ceiling. Choose the single wall stove pipe option with 18 inches of clearance and a slip connector that slides to fill the last gap without cutting, or the 6 inch double wall stove pipe kit with 6 inches from walls and 8 inches from ceilings. Elbow kits contain two 15 or 30 degree elbows and a strap to step around framing.

Build your own

Build your own stove pipe run in black or stainless. For an 8 inch double wall chimney pipe kit, check the DuraChimney II builders, covering 8 to 16 inch wood fireplace chimneys. The double wall class A line has its own elbow kit on this page. Find its straight lengths on the class A chimney pipe page.

What is not in the box

Add vertical triple wall chimney lengths to your chimney pipe kit. Indoor stove pipe is separate unless you choose a stovepipe kit. When planning stove pipe through the roof, allow 3 feet above the roof and 2 feet above anything within 10 feet. Check the stove manual and local code.

FAQ

What comes in a wood stove chimney kit?

Depending on the route, you get adapters, a support box or sleeve and tee, flashing, a storm collar and a cap. Straight chimney and indoor stove pipe are generally separate. The manufactured home kit includes 4 feet of chimney.

Through the wall or through the ceiling: which kit do I need?

Choose through the ceiling for a straight-up run under the roof with fewer turns. Choose through the wall to avoid rooms upstairs and take the chimney outside on supports. Both use the same chimney lengths above the kit.

What size wood stove pipe kit do I need?

Match the stove outlet, never smaller. The three chimney kits and both room-side kits are 6 inch. Stove pipe builders cover 6 to 10 inch, while fireplace chimney builders cover 8 to 16 inch. Call us and we will talk it through.
