DuraVent PolyPro Lochinvar Horizontal Termination Kit: connects PolyPro to an IPEX wall termination
The DuraVent PolyPro Lochinvar Horizontal Termination Kit is an adapter kit for the outside wall end of a vent. It connects PolyPro pipe to the IPEX low profile termination used by some Lochinvar appliances. You get a metal backing plate and a 14 inch length of PolyPro pipe with an adapter welded on. The outer IPEX cap is not in the box and must be obtained separately. Choose a 2, 3, or 4 inch vent size on this page. Before ordering, confirm that the appliance maker approves this setup for your appliance.
PolyPro is DuraVent’s polypropylene vent pipe for high efficiency condensing gas boilers, furnaces, and water heaters. The vent run uses DuraVent PolyPro components, not a mix of brands or connection systems. Connections to PVC, other polypropylene pipe, or metal venting need the DuraVent adapter made for that connection. Where plastic venting crosses a fire rated wall or floor, approved firestopping is needed to preserve that barrier. Looking for a different wall outlet? See the DuraVent PolyPro Single Horizontal Termination vent outlet. The DuraVent PolyPro Lochinvar Horizontal Termination Kit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What does the Lochinvar Horizontal Termination Kit do?
It adapts DuraVent PolyPro pipe to an Ipex 636 low-profile horizontal termination, the style specified for some Lochinvar appliances. The kit is a 14-inch PolyPro pipe welded to an adapter plus a metal backing plate; the outer IPEX termination cap is not included and is supplied by others. Sizes of 2, 3 and 4 inch are on the selector.
Is it approved for my boiler or water heater?
Only if the appliance manufacturer approves PolyPro and the IPEX low-profile termination for that model; the page tells you to check. PolyPro itself is a polypropylene vent for ANSI Category II and IV condensing gas appliances, rated to 230 F exhaust and 15 inches water column, and in the USA it is listed with the appliance.
How does PolyPro connect and seal?
Sections push together over EPDM or Viton gaskets and are secured with locking clamps, which DuraVent makes mandatory on all exhaust joints; lubricate the gaskets with soapy water only, never petroleum products. Pipe lengths may be cut square to length and the cut end fitted with a locking clamp. No sealant is used on the joints.
What slope and clearance does the horizontal run need?
PolyPro horizontal runs must slope back toward the appliance at least 3/8 inch per foot (1.8 degrees) so condensate drains, and single-wall pipe keeps 1/4 inch of clearance to combustibles on horizontal runs up to 230 F (zero clearance up to 194 F and on vertical runs). Follow the appliance manual for maximum vent length and elbow count.
What else do I need for the termination?
The IPEX 636 low-profile cap from the appliance supplier, PolyPro pipe and elbows back to the appliance, and locking clamps for each joint; the wall opening is firestopped where required. PolyPro must not pass fire-rated separations without approved firestopping. Pipe, clamps and adapters are in the PolyPro category.
