DuraVent DuraPlus Adjustable Wall Strap: adjustable arms for a chimney farther from the wall
The DuraVent DuraPlus Adjustable Wall Strap is a metal bracket that steadies a chimney along an outside wall. Its arms adjust to hold the chimney 2 to 6 inches from the wall, making room for siding, trim, or an eave. It also maintains the 2 inches of open air needed around the chimney. Plan for a strap every 4 feet along an outside run. DuraPlus is DuraVent’s triple wall chimney, the insulated pipe that takes over from the stovepipe at the ceiling or wall and runs up past the roof.
Choose the 6 or 8 inch size to match your DuraPlus chimney. This strap comes in galvanized steel. With the appropriate shields and straps, the chimney can stay exposed in an attic or along an outside wall. It can also sit inside a chase, a framed enclosure, but the framing must stay clear of the chimney. DuraPlus components connect only with other DuraPlus parts, not DuraTech or DuraChimney. Keeping the chimney close to the wall? See the DuraVent DuraPlus Wall Strap, the plain wall bracket. The DuraVent DuraPlus Adjustable Wall Strap ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

Typical Installation
Refer to our Typical Venting Installation drawings to select the appropriate component parts for your installation
Refer to our Typical Venting Installation drawings to select the appropriate component parts for your installation.
- A DVL/DuraBlack Chimney Adapter or DuraBlack Slip Connector must be used when connecting DVL or DuraBlack stovepipe to a Ceiling Support, Wall Thimble, or Finishing Collar. A Snap-Lock Adapter must be used when attaching snap-lock stovepipe to DuraPlus.
- A Wall Thimble must be installed with an appropriate section of chimney pipe for all horizontal through-the-wall installations. To accommodate thicker walls a wall thimble extension can be field fabricated.
- An Attic Insulation Shield must be used in all installations that pass through an attic, regardless of whether the attic is insulated or not. If chimney is enclosed in a chase in the attic space, an Attic Insulation Shield is not required.
- A Firestop Radiation Shield must be used when a chimney passes through a floor or ceiling without a Ceiling Support Box.

Planning Your Installation
The following recommendations are a general guideline to assist in the layout and selection of the chimney components needed for your installation. Always follow Duravent Installation instructions before installing your chimney system (enclosed with the cap or support box). Installation instructions can be viewed online at www.duravent.com, under catalogs and instructions.
- The diameter of the chimney should match the outlet size of the appliance. An improperly sized chimney results in poor draft and excessive creosote formation.
- Measure the diameter of the appliance flue outlet. Select the chimney and either DVL or DuraBlack connector stovepipe with the same size diameter as the appliance flue outlet. For fireplace installations, refer to the sizing chart in the back of the DuraTech section of this catalog.
- Determine if the installation is a through-the-roof installation or a through-the-wall installation. A through-the-wall installation will require additional components (Wall Thimble, Tee w/ Cap, Tee Support, and Wall Straps).
- Install the chimney in the interior of the structure whenever possible. A cold exterior chimney will produce less draft and will generate more creosote.
- If possible, avoid offsets that serve to restrict the natural draft. A straight vertical installation is more efficient and less likely to develop creosote. If an offset is required to avoid rafters or other obstructions, measure the horizontal distance required and the vertical height available. Both 15° and 30° elbows are available. Elbows greater than 30° are not allowed in the United States. A maximum of two offsets in a single installation are permitted. Refer to the offset table in the back of this catalog. At least one Elbow Strap is required for each offset. Elbow Straps ensure adequate support.
- Determine the minimum chimney height above the roof line. Building codes require a minimum of 3′ above the roof penetration and at least 2′ higher than any portion of a building within 10′. The termination cap is installed above that point. If chimney is more than 4′ above the roof penetration an Extended Roof Bracket is required.
- Measure the roof pitch. For example, a 6/12 pitch has a vertical rise of 6″ over a horizontal distance of 12″. Select the appropriate flashing.
- Determine the total length of chimney and stovepipe required for the installation. To calculate the installed per length of 6″-8″ DuraPlus chimney pipe, subtract 1 1/2″ per joint. Subtract 1 1/4″ per joint of DuraBlack stovepipe. Subtract 1 1/2″ per joint of DVL stovepipe. Minimum chimney height, at sea level of straight vertical chimney is 10′ to 15′ above the appliance outlet. Higher elevations, or the use of elbows or a tee, will require approximately 30% to 60% more height to provide for an adequate draft.
- Be fire safe. Maintain at least 2″ clearance to combustibles. Follow local building codes and have your chimney inspected by a certified professional.

What Our Customers Say
D
A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. She was always super responsive and helpful throughout the process. Don't kid yourself, getting a really nice sauna is not that easy. Sizing and heating need to be figured out, as does the building, but we have always had a helpful partner on our side. She never upsold us on anything we didn't need, and we got some nice freebies when the sauna was delivered. And now we can really enjoy every moment in our garden.
KF
I'm really happy with my sauna purchase. Maya gave above and beyond excellent customer service. She wasn't pushy and gave impressive followup after the delivery to make sure everything was just right.
DE
I enjoy my FD2 Sauna with Red Light, Infrared and radiant heat. Use it 5x a week and my post workout soreness is minimal and sleep great. Maya at Norse Steam was excellent to work with.
B
We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.
Customer service was excellent

EA
Recently purchased the Finnmark one person after much research. Extremely happy with it and the ordering process. Maya was very responsive and helpful during the process and keeping us updated while we waited for shipment. There were several places I could have ordered this, but i chose Norse Steam based on the communication and customer service which was fantastic. The shipment was also excellent. The setup was pretty seamless for two people - but the best part is the sauna experience 10/10

GR
Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Received the heater, and it looks good, and the quality seem to be great. Will install soon, and am very excited to start experiencing sauna the way it ment to be

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
