DuraVent DuraTech LDC 15 Degree Elbow: a gentler bend around a beam or joist
The DuraVent DuraTech LDC 15 Degree Elbow is a chimney bend that steers the pipe a few inches around a rafter, ridge beam, or joist. It makes a gentler turn than the 30 degree elbow. Two elbows make one offset, a sideways shift in the chimney. The first starts the turn and the second points the pipe straight up again. These are sold individually, so you need two. DuraTech LDC is DuraVent’s large diameter chimney, an insulated double wall pipe made in 10 to 24 inch sizes for big fireplaces, furnaces, and boilers.
Choose a galvalume or stainless steel outer wall, then a diameter from 10 to 24 inches in 2 inch steps. Only one offset is allowed, at 15 or 30 degrees, never steeper. No more than half the chimney can be slanted. A separately sold elbow strap must support that section. DuraVent recommends keeping the chimney straight when possible for better draft. Joints use screws supplied with the pipe, and each connection takes up 1 inch of height. Need more sideways reach? See the DuraVent DuraTech LDC 30 Degree Elbow. The DuraVent DuraTech LDC 15 Degree Elbow ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
