DuraVent DVL Adapter and Damper Section: starts the stovepipe run, with or without a damper
The DuraVent DVL Adapter and Damper Section is the adapter between your wood stove’s smoke outlet and the stovepipe. DuraVent calls for it only if the pipe’s inner sleeve won’t fit over the stove’s outlet collar. DVL is DuraVent’s double wall black stovepipe, the pipe that runs from a wood stove to the chimney inside the room. A damper is a flat plate inside the pipe with an outside handle. Partly closing it slows airflow and the fire. Your stove maker decides whether you need one.
Choose a diameter of 5, 6, 7, or 8 inches. The three larger sizes come with or without the damper. The 5 inch has just one version listed. Air between DVL’s two walls provides insulation, allowing 6 inches of space to a wall and 8 inches to a ceiling, compared with 18 inches for single wall pipe. Some paint odor during the first few fires is normal as the black finish cures. Have a low or short outlet collar? See the DuraVent DVL Adapter for Recessed Stove Collar. The DuraVent DVL Adapter and Damper Section ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
