Le Griddle Pro Series 40 3mm: a small gas griddle for couples and families
The Le Griddle Pro Series 40 3mm is a gas flat top griddle for a couple or small family. Its stainless steel body holds a cooking surface about 16 by 16 inches. The cooking plate is 304 stainless steel bonded over cast iron on an aluminum base, so the heat spreads evenly. It can be built into an outdoor kitchen island, set on a non combustible counter, or rolled around on the optional cart. Le Griddle designs and builds its griddles in the USA, and the company is based in Spring, Texas.
One burner provides 9,000 BTUs. The 40 comes only with the lighter 3mm plate, about an eighth of an inch thick. The Pro Series adds a backlit knob and a light over the plate. It needs a household outlet. Pick natural gas or propane and a gas hose or flex line, sold separately. A wood framed island needs the insulating liner, which you can add on the page. Need another burner? See the Le Griddle Pro Series 75 3mm gas griddle. The Le Griddle Pro Series 40 3mm ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How big is the cooking surface on the Pro Series 40, and how many people does it serve?
The plate measures 15-11/16 inches wide by 16-1/4 inches deep, heated by a single U-shaped 304 stainless burner rated at 9,000 BTU. It is the smallest griddle in the line, sized for a couple or a small family rather than a crowd; if you regularly cook for more, step up to the 75 or 105, which add a burner each.
Does it run on natural gas or propane?
Either. Choose Natural Gas or Propane Gas in the required Gas Type selector on this page and the griddle ships set up for that fuel, with the opposite orifices in the box for a later conversion. The connection is a 3/8 inch fitting. A flex line or propane hose and regulator is not included; add one from the Installation Connectors selector.
Why does a gas griddle need 110 V power?
The 2026 Pro Series adds electronics: color-changing backlit control knobs (blue off, yellow low, red high), a halogen light over the plate, the logo projector and push-and-spark ignition. They run from a transformer that is included, so plan a standard 110 V outlet near the cabinet. The burner itself is gas; the power feeds only lighting and ignition.
Can I build it into a wood or composite outdoor kitchen?
Only with the insulating liner. The specifications state the griddle must sit in a non-combustible cabinet for outdoor kitchen use, or in the GFLINER40 liner if the cabinet is combustible. The cut-out is 14-3/4 inches wide, 16-3/4 deep and 5-3/4 high. The liner is in the Optional Addons selector; note the vendor says it cannot be combined with the trim kit.
What if I do not have a cabinet at all?
You can set the griddle on any non-combustible surface, or order the Portable Cart for the 40 Series from the Optional Addons selector to make it a freestanding unit on wheels. A vinyl cart cover, a stainless lid and a trim kit for a finished built-in edge are on the same selector, each priced where you pick it.
Is it rated for indoor use and what warranty applies?
Yes: the page lists it as engineered, tested and rated for indoor and commercial use, ETL certified to ANSI Z21.58b and CSA 1.6B, and made in the USA. Residential warranty per the Warranty tab: lifetime on the plate, five years on the body, ten years on burners and valves, one year on electronics. Other built-in outdoor griddles are in our collection.
