Narvi Kaamos 20: a 21 kW wood burning sauna stove for rooms from 353 to 706 cubic feet
The Narvi Kaamos 20 is a floor standing wood burning sauna stove for a family sized room. It puts out 21 kW and heats saunas from 353 to 706 cubic feet. It holds 132 pounds of stones, a generous amount for a stove this size that helps keep the heat even. The body is rust resistant steel painted black. The door has a cast iron frame and a wooden handle. Adjustable feet let you level it on an uneven floor. Narvi designs and builds it in Finland.
Wood burning means no wiring: you build a fire in the firebox and the stones on top hold the heat. Ladle water on the stones for steam. It comes with the stove and the manual. Sauna stones are sold separately, so add the three boxes it needs on the page. A chimney is not included, so pick the flue parts and the adapter to 6 inch US pipe on the page. The flue can leave from the top or the back. If the stove sits near a wood wall, add Narvi’s protective wall shield or the floor base on the page. A large grate and an air control at the back help the wood burn clean. It burns logs up to 13 inches long. Want a choice of three sizes? See the Narvi NC Black wood burning stove. The Narvi Kaamos 20 ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
FAQ
What size sauna room does the Kaamos 20 heat?
The Specifications tab rates it for rooms of 353 to 706 cubic feet at 21 kW. That rating assumes an insulated room; the linked installation manual says uncovered glass, brick or concrete walls add to the volume the stove must heat, so a glass-fronted sauna should be sized toward the lower end of that range rather than the top.
Are the sauna stones included?
No. The stove ships without stones; the Required Stones selector on this page adds 44 pound boxes of Narvi split-face or rounded stones at the price shown, and the stove holds 132 pounds of 4 to 6 inch stones. Wash the stones before stacking them, stand flat ones upright and never block the air openings, per the manual.
How does it connect to a chimney?
The flue outlet can face the top or the back. The stove is built to the European 120 mm flue standard, so the Chimney selector offers a 4.5 inch Euro to 6 inch USA pipe adapter along with Narvi’s black flue section, a 300 mm extension and a stone cage. The manual calls for a CE-marked modular chimney and an annual sweep.
What clearances does it need?
The Specifications tab lists a minimum ceiling height of 79.7 inches and safety distances of 47.3 inches front to back and 42.5 inches left to right. The manual allows the rear and side distances to be shortened with Narvi protective wall shields, which is why the Safety selector offers the 650 by 1150 protective wall and a 550 by 620 installation base.
What wood should I burn and how big?
Natural, dry wood logs only, cut to a maximum of 13 inches and about 2 inches across per the Specifications tab. The manual describes an ignition load followed by one or two additions, and says a couple of logs are enough to hold heat once the 132 pounds of stones are hot. The large grate and rear air control keep combustion clean.
Is it UL listed and what warranty applies?
The Specifications tab lists CE as the safety listing and the Includes tab a 2-year limited warranty; no UL or ETL mark is shown, so confirm acceptance with your local inspector or insurer before ordering. Designed and made in Finland, it weighs 143 pounds bare and 275 pounds with stones. See the rest of our wood burning sauna stoves.
