DuraVent DuraLiner Spacer: keeps bare flex 1 inch away from the masonry
The DuraVent DuraLiner Spacer is a stainless steel ring for the flexible liner sections inside your chimney. It clips onto the flex to keep an unwrapped section 1 inch away from the brick or block. Rigid DuraLiner pipe does not need this ring and is approved to touch the masonry. DuraLiner is DuraVent’s factory insulated double wall pipe for relining a masonry chimney that vents a wood, pellet, coal, oil, or gas appliance. Choose the 6 or 8 inch spacer to match your liner size.
The flex sections have a single layer of stainless steel and come in lengths of 36 and 60 inches. They are used only at the bend past the smoke shelf and damper, which must be removed first. Flex below the chimney’s first clay lining tile can remain bare with the required gap. Any flex extending above that tile needs the insulation kit. DuraVent recommends insulating all flex sections to help draft and safety. Rather use insulation instead of an air gap? See the DuraVent DuraLiner Insulation Kit wrap. The DuraVent DuraLiner Spacer ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
