SaunaLife E8W: a six person barrel sauna kit with a half moon window in the back
The SaunaLife E8W is a six person outdoor barrel sauna kit with a large half moon window in the back wall. The long room gets daylight and a view from both ends. It is built from thermo-spruce, which is spruce baked in a kiln so it shrugs off moisture and lasts up to twice as long as cedar. Steel bands hold the barrel tight. A black shingle roof keeps the rain off, and the door is bronze tinted glass. The barrel is about 87 inches long and 81 inches across, with room to stand up inside. A curved bench with a backrest runs along each side.
The kit includes the staves, the benches, the rear window, the glass door, the steel bands, the shingle roof kit, the cradles it sits on, and the LED lights. The white LED light bar dims from your phone or a remote. Two people can build it in about a day. What makes the rear window special on this model?
The half-circle window spans the rear wall of the barrel, pulling natural light through the whole 78.5-inch-long room and giving bathers on both benches a view out the back. It turns the six-person barrel into a distinctly brighter space than a solid-back layout, especially in the morning and late afternoon.
How many people can bathe at once?
Up to six. The interior is more than six feet in diameter, 77 inches, with ergonomically contoured Thermo-Aspen benches and arched backrests that provide true lumbar support. The smooth, knot-free seating handles bathers of all sizes comfortably, which matters when a full group shares the room for a long session.
What are the heater choices?

Yes, the two-vent setup is designed to work alongside your choice of an electric or wood-burning heater, so either heat source is supported. How is it insulated against cold weather?
The 1.65-inch Thermo-Spruce staves carry superior thermal resistance, the black shingle roof adds further insulation over the top of the barrel, and sturdy stainless steel bands keep the body tight. Thermally treated wood also resists moisture, so winter use will not degrade the structure the way it would conventional timber.
Can I put it together without a contractor?
Yes, it is engineered for one-day installation with two people. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
