The Grand Canyon Gas Logs Western Driftwood see-through log set is made for a fireplace open on two sides, so the logs look right from either room. Choose from sizes of 18, 24, 30, 36, or 42 inches. Cast from real driftwood found along the Colorado River, the logs are made from ceramic fiber and high temperature concrete with stainless steel mesh inside. Each is painted by hand in pale silvery gray, with deep cracks, splintered ends, and no bark. One thick log lies flat across the front, with the rest leaning into a stack behind it.
Order it for natural gas or propane. On the page you choose the size, two or three burners, and the burner system, from a safety pilot you light by hand to a millivolt or battery electronic system that works from a remote. Which of the Seven Natural Wonders shaped this design?
The Grand Canyon itself. The brand states this set was conceived with the landmark in mind, and the castings are styled to resemble its natural terrain – timber weathered the way canyon country weathers everything it holds. Among all the company’s collections, this is the one that most directly honors its own namesake, which is why the description introduces the set as iconic.
Is driftwood an actual tree species like oak or aspen?
No – driftwood is what happens to timber, not what it grew as. Wood left long enough to rivers, sun, and hard seasons takes on the bleached, weather-carved character this set reproduces, regardless of the species it started out as. That is also why the collection is cast from genuine found driftwood rather than modeled on a living tree: the look only exists in wood with a history.
How is this page different from the other driftwood listings?
Grand Canyon sells its driftwood look in three formats, and this is the fireplace version for double-sided installations – part of the see-through collection and built for 2 and 3 burner see-through systems. Do gas logs have to imitate fresh-cut firewood?
Not at all, and this set is the counterargument. Instead of split logs stacked as if straight off a woodpile, it models timber marked by years in the elements, with the muted, sun-faded coloring that real exposure produces. In a fireplace, that aged character can sit more naturally than a pristine stack – weathered wood looks like it belongs to a place, not a showroom.
Does the weathered outdoor look mean this set belongs outdoors?
No – the style and the rating are separate things. The specification lists indoor and outdoor vented installation, so the sun-bleached character is just as much at home in an interior see-through fireplace as in an open-air one. Either way the installation must vent; that part of the specification has no exceptions.
Which gas logs look the most realistic?
Detail decides it, and detail is this set’s entire pitch – the brand describes the finished effect as second-to-none. Its castings inherit texture from original weathered timber, and hand-painting then works through the bark cuts and layered tonework log by log. Realism is always somewhat subjective, but if fine detail is your measuring stick, this is the set Grand Canyon itself holds up.
If we move to a new house, can the log set come along?
Yes, within its specifications. The set is a collection of cast pieces made for a particular width, gas type, and see-through burner configuration, so it can be reinstalled in another vented see-through fireplace that matches those requirements. What does not travel well is a mismatch – a 36-inch set has no business in a 30-inch opening – so the specs, not the address, decide where it can live.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. She was always super responsive and helpful throughout the process. Don't kid yourself, getting a really nice sauna is not that easy. Sizing and heating need to be figured out, as does the building, but we have always had a helpful partner on our side. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
