Forty years ago, a young boy was hiking through the Red Vermilion Cliffs on the Arizona-Utah border when him and his family came across a scrub oak that had been struck down by Mother Nature. The sheer awe and beauty of this lighting struck oak would leave a lifelong impression on the young boy’s mind. In October of 2011, the same scrub oak was rediscovered laying in the same spot that it had been 40 years earlier – only more beautiful than ever. The boy, now a man with a family of his own, backpacked the logs of the fallen oak out of the canyon to be casted, painted, and enjoyed in your home today.
VENTED LOGS – All logs manufactured by Grand Canyon Gas Logs are individually cast and hand painted to perfection. All logs are built with a high temperature concrete, ceramic refractory, and stainless steel fiber mesh. Logs installed indoors carry a lifetime warranty and logs that are installed outside carry a 5-year warranty.

Yes. The design was cast from a genuine scrub oak struck down by lightning in the Red Vermilion Cliffs along the Arizona-Utah border. Rediscovered in October 2011, decades after it fell, the logs were backpacked out of the canyon and used to create the molds, so every ridge and split in this set traces back to that one tree.

It does. Installed in an indoor fireplace, the logs carry a lifetime warranty from Grand Canyon Gas Logs. Installed outside, the same set carries a five-year warranty instead. The coverage follows the installation, not the product, so decide where the set will live before you register the GCGL warranty form.

The safety pilot valve is the most straightforward control in Grand Canyon’s lineup: a standing pilot supervises the burner, and a valve knob brings the flame up or shuts it down. - Record any damage or missing pieces directly on the delivery receipt.
- Do not discard damaged item(s) or any original packaging. For severe damage, write “Refused due to damage” on the delivery receipt and contact us immediately.
- Report any damage within two business days, including delivery details and photos showing the issue
- Damaged item(s) must be returned within 30 days. Failure to return them will result in a charge to the original payment method.
