The Fire Magic outdoor refrigerator, compact fridges for covered islands, kegerator, automatic ice maker, ice bins and bar stations make up this collection. You can keep drinks at the grill island instead of walking back to the kitchen. Start with whether your fridge will sit in the open or out of the rain. Then plan the opening, door swing and connections around how you serve guests.

Fire Magic refrigerators for an open island or a covered one

The Fire Magic outdoor rated refrigerator gives 5.1 cubic feet of space and is tested to run in the open on a patio, with the maker's style handle on its stainless steel door. The two compact fridges give 4.2 cubic feet and sit inside a covered island out of the rain, where it stays above 55 degrees. All three have a light inside, a thermometer and a key lock that keeps the contents safe. Only the plain-door compact has a reversible door hinge. The Premium has a matching stainless steel door for Flush doors and drawers, but you choose its fixed hinge side when ordering, just as with the outdoor rated one. Compare outdoor refrigerators across brands.

The kegerator and the ice maker

The Fire Magic kegerator has two taps and takes full, half, quarter or sixth kegs. Its metal shelves let it work as a fridge between kegs. The ice maker needs a water line and a floor drain within five feet. Compare outdoor kegerators and outdoor ice makers for other layouts.

Ice bins and bar stations

The built-in refreshment center holds 30 pounds of ice, while the drop-in bin holds 40 pounds. Both are insulated and need drainage, not an outlet. The bar caddy needs neither water nor power, while the beverage butler combines a sink and ice chest with water and drain connections. Pair these bar stations with sinks and prep accessories beside the grill.

Plan the island around the cold

Give each fridge, the kegerator and the ice maker an outlet on its own circuit. Plan water and drain lines before closing the outdoor kitchen island. The Premium fridge comes in contemporary island bundles, so check the fridge bay against your layout.

Your refrigeration questions

What is the difference between the outdoor rated refrigerator and the compact refrigerators?

The outdoor rated one handles patio heat and cold, with 5.1 cubic feet and a 24.5 inch opening. Compact fridges have 4.2 cubic feet and need a 20 inch opening inside an island or cabinet, out of rain. They are not designed for below 55 degrees. All have lights, thermometers and key locks.

Can the door hinge on a Fire Magic refrigerator be switched?

Only the plain-door compact fridge lets you move the hinge later. For the Premium fridge, the outdoor rated one and the kegerator, choose a right or left hinge on the page because it cannot be switched afterward. The ice maker door can open from either side.

How much ice does the Fire Magic ice maker make?

The outdoor rated maker produces about 63 pounds of clear, bell-shaped ice daily and holds up to 27 pounds. It replenishes ice as the bin empties. It needs a water line, a floor drain within five feet and its own circuit. Its door opens either way. Put it next to a Fire Magic refrigerator and the bar has cold drinks and fresh ice in one run of counter.
