This Fire Magic Choice grill collection holds 24, 30 and 36 inch built-in grills, 24 inch patio and in-ground post grills, and a double side burner. You get the maker’s simplest gas grills, built in the USA from heavy stainless steel for durability outdoors. They light without electricity or batteries. You choose natural gas or propane on each gas product page, and the grill comes built for that fuel.

What Fire Magic Choice keeps

The built-in sizes slide into an outdoor kitchen island cutout, so compare your opening with the dimensions of our built-in grills before you choose. The 24 inch size has about 430 square inches of cooking surface, versus 540 at 30 inches and 650 at 36 inches. Stainless steel tube burners light with a spark when you turn the knob, needing no outlet or batteries. Choice grills still give you Diamond Sear cooking grids, flavor grids, a double walled hood and a dial thermometer, also called an analog thermometer, plus a warming rack above the grates. The maker's published warranty covers the burners, cooking grids and body for as long as you own the grill.

Post grills and the double side burner

A post mount grill gives you the 24 inch grill head with a shelf on each side. The patio post bolts to a patio or deck, while the in-ground post sits in a concrete footing. A one hour timer shuts the gas off automatically, which matters on a shared patio, such as at a condo or a resort. The matching double side burner lets you simmer a sauce while another burner boils.

Choice, Aurora or Echelon?

Fire Magic Aurora adds cast stainless steel burners, hood lights and glow plug ignition that needs an outlet. Fire Magic Echelon, the top line, includes a rotisserie and offers a dial or a touch screen with a meat probe on its Echelon Diamond grills. Choice has no hood lights, glow plug ignition or rotisserie option. The maker describes Choice as an Aurora style grill body with a simple satin stainless steel finish.

Your questions answered

What makes the Fire Magic Choice series different from Aurora?

Choice keeps the heavy stainless steel body, Diamond Sear grids, flavor grids, double walled hood and dial thermometer. Its Aurora-style shape has a satin finish. Tube burners replace cast burners, and a spark when you turn the knob replaces glow plugs, with no lights or rotisserie option.

Does a Fire Magic Choice grill need electricity?

No, you turn the knob and a spark lights the burner. There is no outlet, battery or anything to plug in, which suits an island without power. Aurora and Echelon need an outlet for their glow plug ignition and lights.

Can I get a Fire Magic Choice grill on a post instead of in an island?

Yes, the 24 inch grill comes on a patio post bolted to your patio or deck, or an in-ground post set in concrete. Both have side shelves and a one hour gas shutoff timer. Fire Magic Choice also comes built-in at 24, 30 and 36 inches.
