What is the largest ventless linear burner you can buy?
Grand Canyon’s Bedrock II holds that title — it is the largest ventless drop-in burner system available, topping out at 60 inches, with sizes of 24, 36, and 48 inches below it. Every size ships as a complete system: case, burner, SIT controls with remote, LED lights with remote, rating plate, installation manual, flex line, and fittings.
How can the Bedrock II be both vented and ventless?
Through dual certification — its headline feature. The system is dual listed for vented and ventless installations under ANSI standards, which is why it appears among ventless gas logs while remaining approved for vented installs. It is sold gas-specific, in natural gas (EN) or liquid propane (EP) versions, with the fuel type chosen at purchase.
How many flame heights does the handheld remote adjust?
Five. The burner runs on the SIT Proflame II control system with five flame height adjustments, modulated from the sleek handheld remote included with the system. The same platform also supports app control, so the flame can be stepped up for show or down for a quieter burn without touching the unit itself.
Can the LED lighting be controlled from a phone?
Yes. The IC controlled LED lighting operates with either a remote or an easy-to-use app, and the LED lights ship with their own remote as part of the complete system. That gives you two ways to run the lighting effects out of the box — handheld for simplicity, app for convenience — with nothing extra to buy for control.
Why is the media limited to half-inch reflective glass?
The burner bed is designed around half-inch reflective fireglass, and the specification is strict: glass media only, no lava rock. Media is not packed with the system, but the Fire Glass add-on on this page lets you order enough half-inch reflective glass for your burner size in the same checkout. Staying with the specified glass keeps the system performing the way it was designed and listed.
Does the 110v system have to be hardwired?
No — you get both options. This is a 110v system that arrives plug or hard-wire ready, so an installer can run it from a standard outlet or wire it in permanently, whichever suits the fireplace or patio structure. Plan the power drop alongside the gas line when roughing in a trough or firebox, since 110v service is part of every install.
Will it drop into an open-face wood-burning fireplace?
Yes — open-face wood-burning fireplaces are one of the three stated installation targets, alongside trough-style masonry and certified ventless fireplaces. Placement can be indoors or under a covered patio, per the product’s own installation list, which is how a linear burner of this scale ends up serving outdoor rooms as readily as interior ones.
Why do the metal parts and electronics carry different warranties?
Coverage is split by component type: metal components carry a lifetime warranty, while electrical components are covered for one year. In practice that means the case and burner hardware are protected for the long haul, and electronics such as the controls, remotes, and LED lighting follow the shorter electrical term. Grand Canyon’s warranty form is listed in the product’s resources tab.
