Modern Flames Orion Slim: a slim electric fireplace for a standard wall
The Modern Flames Orion Slim is a slim linear electric fireplace you build into a wall or hang on it. It is low and wide and only about 6 inches deep, so it fits inside a standard 2 by 6 wall. It comes in four widths from 52 to 100 inches. Pick the size on the page. The flame picture is 15 inches tall, with colored flames above logs and glass. The fire is a high definition video of real flames on a screen, so it looks the same whether you are standing or sitting.
It needs no gas line and no chimney. Plug it into a wall outlet on its own circuit. It heats a room of up to 400 square feet with 5,000 BTU. Run the flames with or without heat. It comes with a remote, and you can also run it from your phone with the Modern Flames app. In the box you get the Western Driftwood log set, black reflective crushed glass, and the remote. How does the Orion Slim compare with the Orion Multi?
The Slim is the single-sided model built for a 6 inch wall: about 6 inches deep, a 15 inch viewing height on this page, and a 5,000 BTU heater only. The Multi is 9 inches deep, offers corner and bay layouts, and can be wired for 10,000 BTU. Both share Heliovision flame technology, three flame styles, six colors, and the same app and remote.
Can a TV be mounted above it?
The owner’s manual sets the minimum clearance to combustibles at 11.8 inches, or 300 mm, from the top of the glass front to a mantel, a television, or the ceiling, with zero clearance required at the sides, bottom, and back. Keep that gap and check your TV maker’s guidance on heat exposure as well, since the heater output rises in front of the unit.
What power does it need?
The rating is 120 volts, 1,465 watts, 5,000 BTU. The manual calls for a dedicated 20-amp breaker and says to plug directly into a wall outlet, never through an extension cord or power strip. Hardwiring is possible if a qualified electrician removes the cord connection. The heater is intended as supplemental heat only.
Is it rated for outdoor use?
No. The manual linked on this page says indoor use only. If a covered outdoor space is the goal, the Orion V2 Slim is rated for indoor and outdoor use and shares the same slim footprint; both appear in our Modern Flames electric fireplace category.
What comes with the fireplace?
The Western Driftwood log set and reflective black crushed glass are both included, so you can display logs over glass or glass alone, plus a remote and suction cups for glass removal. For a real-wood upgrade, the TruWood selector offers slim kits in 44-52, 56-60, 68-76, and 80-100 inch ranges, and the Tall Flame USB Upgrade is a plug-in drive that loads taller flames.
What is the Allwood media wall option shown for the 60 inch size?
Choosing 60 inches unlocks the Allwood Media Wall Fireplace System on the selector: a wood wall unit with a mantel and a cutout sized for the OR60-SLIM, plus optional one or two side walls with adjustable shelves, in Coastal Sand, Driftwood Grey, or Weathered Walnut. The complete unit with both side walls spans roughly 10 feet wide by 8 feet high per its install guide.
How is it controlled?
Built-in touch controls, a remote, and the Modern Flames app on iOS or Android are all standard, with RGB color selection for flame, ember bed, and downlight plus adjustable flame speed and crackling sound. Wi-Fi pairing uses a 2.4 GHz network, and the manual warns not to cut power during pairing or updates.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
