Primo Oval X-Large All-In-One: a ceramic charcoal grill for families who host
The Primo Oval X-Large All-In-One is a ceramic charcoal grill for the family that hosts. A kamado is a charcoal grill with thick ceramic walls that hold heat and moisture, so one grill can sear, roast, bake, and smoke. Its oval grate has 400 square inches of cooking space, enough for about twenty burgers. The grill body weighs 250 pounds. Primo is the only ceramic grill made in the USA, built by Empire Comfort Systems in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
All-In-One means the grill arrives assembled on a rolling cradle with side tables, a grate lifter, and an ash tool. Included heat deflector plates and racks turn it into an oven or smoker. The included cast iron firebox divider keeps coals on one side. Sear there while you roast on the other. You can select a steel cart instead, but swapping configurations removes the starter accessories. A fitted cover and an extension rack that adds 280 square inches are optional. The Primo Oval X-Large All-In-One ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
Why is the X-Large the most popular Primo?
Primo calls it their most popular ceramic grill: 400 square inches on an 18.5 by 25 inch oval grid, with an optional rack system adding 280 square inches for 680 total. That is room for eight whole chickens, two turkeys, twelve steaks, twenty burgers, ten racks of ribs or twelve ears of corn while keeping true two-zone cooking.
What is in the All-In-One box?
A fully assembled grill on a cradle with locking casters, fold-down side tables, a grate lifter, an ash tool, plus the oval extras: ceramic heat deflector plates, deflector plate racks and the cast iron firebox divider. Primo says the package is out of the box and ready in 30 minutes or less. Changing the configuration to a table or cart removes the starter accessories.
Which table or cart options are available?
The selector offers the All-In-One cradle, the Cypress grill table built for the X-Large, the Cypress countertop table, a steel cart with a stainless side table, or the grill head alone. Cypress tables arrive unfinished with locking casters and ceramic shoes for airflow under the base. Each choice reprices on the page and unlocks a matching cover add-on.
How do I set up two-zone cooking?
Use half a firebox of lump charcoal and slide the included cast iron firebox divider in so the coals stay on one side. Cook steaks directly over the fire and roast seafood or vegetables on the cool side, or put a deflector plate on the rack over the empty half to shield food fully. Set the draft door about one-third open for roasting temperatures.
How do I hold a low smoking temperature?
Start with a very small fire in one spot rather than lighting the whole bed. After five minutes close the dome with both vents open, and when the thermometer shows about 200 F set the draft door to a 1 inch gap and the top vent to daisy-wheel holes only. Adjust in tiny steps; the guide warns that bringing heat down is much slower than raising it.
How much room does the X-Large need?
The spec sheet requires at least 2 inches of clearance around the exterior and 12 inches behind the grill for the dome to open. At 250 pounds for the grill body, place the cradle on a solid, level surface and lock the casters. Follow the guide and local codes near structures. Other sizes are in the Primo grill collection.
