The Primo Oval XX-Large All-In-One is Primo’s largest ceramic charcoal grill, with 500 square inches of cooking space for big parties. It holds about twenty eight burgers, and the grill body weighs 282 pounds. A kamado is a charcoal grill with thick ceramic walls that hold heat and moisture, so one grill can sear, roast, bake, and smoke. Primo is the only ceramic grill made in the USA, built by Empire Comfort Systems in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

All-In-One means the grill arrives assembled on a rolling cradle with side tables, a grate lifter, and an ash tool. Heat deflector plates, their racks, and a cast iron firebox divider also come in the box. The plates block direct heat for baking or smoking. The divider holds coals on one side, so you can sear there and smoke on the other. On this page, you can swap to a cypress table or steel cart, but either swap removes the starter accessories. How big is the XX-Large?

It is the largest Primo ever built: 500 square inches of cooking space with an optional rack system adding 350 square inches, at 282 pounds for the grill body. Primo rates a single cook at ten whole chickens, three turkeys, sixteen steaks, twenty-eight burgers, twelve racks of ribs, eighteen ears of corn, a suckling pig or three 25-pound salmon.

What does the All-In-One include?

A fully assembled grill on a cradle with locking casters, fold-down side tables, a grate lifter, an ash tool, and the oval-only deflector plates, deflector racks and cast iron firebox divider. Primo says the series goes from box to barbecue in about 30 minutes. If you switch to the countertop table or steel cart, the Includes tab says those starter accessories are not shipped.

Who is this grill for?

The brochure calls the XXL the king of ceramic grills, built for restaurant-style results and feeding crowds of 20 or more. If you host large parties, smoke several briskets or pork shoulders at once, or want a whole suckling pig on the grate, this is the size. For family cooking the smaller ovals give the same two-zone versatility with less charcoal.

Can I still cook small meals on it?

Yes. Slide the included cast iron firebox divider in and light only half the firebox; the brochure notes the divider conserves lump charcoal on smaller cooks while keeping a direct and an indirect zone. Charcoal you do not burn through relights two or three times with about 30 percent fresh lump added, so a big grill does not have to mean big fuel bills.

What accessories are made for the XX-Large?

The Accessories selector on this page lists a pizza oven, a stainless griddle, a half-moon cast iron griddle with smooth and grooved sides, an extension rack and a rotisserie kit, all sized for the XXL. A half drip pan for the XXL sits under Optional (Recommended). Prices show on each selector, and a fitted All-In-One cover is offered with the cradle configuration.

How do I control temperature on a grill this size?

The same way as every Primo: the lower draft door feeds air to the charcoal and the 5-position top vent regulates exhaust. Close the top vent to one-third when you are about 25 F under target and adjust in quarter-inch moves, each worth roughly 25 F.
