Primo Round Kamado: a round ceramic grill for your table or island
The Primo Round Kamado is a ceramic charcoal grill for replacing a round grill in a table or island. Its 18.5 inch cooking area gives you 280 square inches of space, enough for about ten burgers. The grill weighs 200 pounds. A kamado is a charcoal grill with thick ceramic walls that hold heat and moisture, so one grill can sear, roast, bake, and smoke. Primo is the only ceramic grill made in the USA, built by Empire Comfort Systems in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
It cooks from 151 to over 850 degrees. Kamado on this page means the ceramic grill head alone, with no stand, side tables, or tools. Heat deflectors and a drip pan are not included. On this page, you can add the All-In-One cradle with side tables or a round ceramic heat deflector plate and rack for baking and smoking. Need the stand and starter tools together? See the Primo Round All-In-One grill package. The Primo Round Kamado ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What comes with the Round grill head?
This is the 18.5 inch round ceramic grill on its own: dome, base, firebox, fire grate, reversible cooking grates, draft door and cast aluminum top vent. No cradle, side tables, tools or heat deflector are included. Add a stand under Change Pkg Configuration and the deflector plates and drip pan under Optional (Recommended) if you plan to bake, roast or smoke.
Will it drop into an existing table?
The round body is the shape most grill tables and outdoor kitchens are cut for, and the brochure says the round size is ideal for replacing a current round setup or building a new grilling area. Check the spec sheet dimensions and the 2 inch clearance around the ceramic, and 10 inches behind for the dome, before cutting.
Is it a smoker as well as a grill?
With the round heat deflector in place it works as an oven, roaster or smoker. The Quick Start Guide’s low-temperature method starts a very small fire, closes the dome after five minutes, and at about 200 F sets the draft door to a 1 inch opening with just the daisy wheel holes open, holding around 225 F for long cooks.
How big is the cooking area?
The grid is 280 square inches, an 18.5 inch circle. Primo lists four whole chickens, a whole turkey, six steaks, ten burgers, four racks of ribs or eight ears of corn as typical capacity. The extension rack under Accessories adds a second level for more food when you need it.
How heavy is it and what will delivery look like?
The grill weighs 200 pounds, so plan for two people to lift it onto a stand or into a table. Orders take four to six weeks to build, then ship free with curbside delivery lowered to ground level, so arrange help to move it from the street to where it will live.
Should I choose the All-In-One instead?
If you do not already own a stand, the All in One Pkg option in the package selector on this page adds the cradle with locking casters, fold-down side tables, ash tool and grate lifter for one price step, and the Includes tab describes it as ready to cook in minutes.
