The Primo Oval XX-Large Kamado is the largest Primo ceramic charcoal grill. It’s for an outdoor kitchen or a stand you already own. Its oval grate has 500 square inches of cooking space for about twenty eight burgers. The grill head weighs 282 pounds. A kamado is a charcoal grill with thick ceramic walls that hold heat and moisture, so one grill can sear, roast, bake, and smoke. Primo is the only ceramic grill made in the USA, built by Empire Comfort Systems in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
The oval shape leaves room to sear over coals at one end and roast on the other. Kamado on this page means the ceramic grill head alone, with no stand, side tables, or tools. The included cooking grates are stainless steel. You can choose a stand on this page. Heat deflector plates and their rack are optional for turning the grill into an oven or smoker. What is included with the XX-Large grill head?
The ceramic body alone: dome with the 5-position cast aluminum damper top, reversible cooking grates, firebox, fire grate and lower draft door. There is no cradle, side table, ash tool, grate lifter, deflector set or firebox divider at this price. The Change Pkg Configuration selector adds a stand, and Optional (Recommended) carries the XXL deflector plates, deflector rack, half drip pan and firebox divider.
How much food does it handle?
Primo rates the 500 square inch grid for ten whole chickens, three turkeys, sixteen steaks, twenty-eight burgers, twelve racks of ribs, eighteen ears of corn, a suckling pig or three 25-pound salmon, and the optional rack system adds 350 square inches on top. The brochure calls it the largest Primo ever built, sized for crowds of 20 or more.
Which stands can I put it on?
The package selector offers the All in One Pkg cradle with fold-down side tables, the Cypress countertop table, or a steel cart with a stainless side table. Primo’s site lists the Cypress tables and the grill cradle as compatible with the XXL. Whichever you choose, a matching cover appears as an add-on, and the price updates on the page.
What do I need to smoke on it?
Indirect cooking needs the deflector plates sitting on the deflector rack, both listed for the XXL under Optional (Recommended), plus a half drip pan if you want to catch fat or add water. Then follow the guide’s low-temperature method: a very small fire in one spot, dome closed after five minutes, draft door at a 1 inch opening once the grill passes 200 F.
How heavy is it and what will delivery be like?
The grill body weighs 282 pounds, so it takes at least two strong people and ideally a dolly to move it onto a stand. Orders take four to six weeks to build, then ship free with curbside delivery lowered to the ground at the street; getting it into the yard and onto its base is up to you and your helpers.
Is the XX-Large worth it over the X-Large?
Only if you regularly cook for a crowd. You gain 100 square inches of grid and a bigger rack system, room for a suckling pig or three large salmon, and Primo’s biggest accessory set, at 32 pounds more weight and more charcoal per cook. A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
