Detroit Radiant TH-BR42 Programmable Thermostat: set a heating schedule and add a remote sensor
The Detroit Radiant TH-BR42 Programmable Thermostat is a digital wall thermostat that lets you set a heating schedule. You can choose a temperature from 45 to 90 degrees F. It works with Detroit Radiant DSC patio heaters and DSR or DSRF tube heaters. It can also control Detroit Radiant electric heaters through the parts described below. An optional remote sensor lets it read the temperature at an indoor or outdoor location away from the wall control. That sensor is sold separately. Detroit Radiant builds these controls for its own heaters, so the wiring and voltages match.
For a DSC heater, it needs the 24 volt transformer that also powers the heater. Use one transformer per thermostat. For DSR or DSRF heaters, you need one external relay kit per heater to pass along the thermostat’s signal. When two or more heaters share this thermostat, you also need one transformer. For electric heaters, an electrician connects a contactor panel, which switches power to the heater, fed by a 24 volt transformer. Want to sense the temperature outdoors? Add the Detroit Radiant RS-BR54 Outdoor Remote Sensor. The Detroit Radiant TH-BR42 Programmable Thermostat ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
