DuraVent DuraFlex Pro Top Plate and Cap Kit: remove the cap without loosening the liner
The DuraVent DuraFlex Pro Top Plate and Cap Kit is a chimney relining kit with a flexible liner and its top and bottom fittings. The cap lifts off for inspection and sweeping while the liner stays clamped in place. You get a coil of Pro liner, a chimney top plate with a welded storm collar that sheds rain, a removable cap, and a bottom connector. Pro bends to follow several turns inside an old chimney. DuraFlex Stainless is DuraVent’s flexible stainless steel liner for relining a masonry chimney that vents a wood, pellet, oil, or gas appliance.
Choose a length of 20, 25, 30, or 35 feet first. Then pick from the diameters available for that length, between 3 and 6 inches. Match the appliance outlet or the vent pipe entering the chimney. Going smaller requires sizing by a qualified person. Have the liner checked for deposits during the heating season and inspected yearly. Need a shorter coil or wider diameter with the same four parts? See the DuraVent DuraFlex Pro Basic Kit. The DuraVent DuraFlex Pro Top Plate and Cap Kit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is different about the DuraFlex Pro Top Plate/Cap Kit?
It has the same Top Plate with welded Storm Collar, Removable Vertical Cap, connector and DuraFlex Pro length as the Basic Kit, but the top is designed so the flex stays secured to the storm collar and top plate when the cap section is removed for inspection and cleaning. That makes annual sweeping easier because the liner never has to be unclamped.
Which lengths and diameters are offered?
Flex lengths of 20, 25, 30 or 35 feet, with diameters from 3 to 6 inches depending on the length; choose the length first and the available diameters appear on the second selector. Match the diameter to the appliance outlet, never smaller, and allow enough length to reach from the connector to a few inches above the chimney top.
Which appliances can vent through it?
Fireplace inserts, stoves, furnaces, boilers and water heaters burning gas, wood pellets, oil or wood; DuraFlex Pro is 316 stainless listed to UL 1777 and ULC S635 as an alternative to clay tile. It suits chimneys with multiple offsets because of its flexibility. Zero clearance applies for gas, oil and pellets; wood needs 1 inch to the masonry or an insulated liner.
How is the top plate installed?
Per DuraVent’s DuraFlex instructions, the liner is pulled up so 2 to 3 inches stand above the crown, the top plate slides over it and is bedded in RTV silicone on the masonry, the clamp band is tightened around the liner and the excess trimmed, then the removable cap locks on. The connector at the bottom joins the liner to the appliance or to a stove connector.
How does it compare with the Basic Kit and the Tee Kit?
All three share the top plate, cap and Pro liner. The Basic Kit uses a simpler top, this kit adds the cleaning-friendly cap section, and the Tee Kit swaps the connector for a tee with clean-out for side-entry appliances. Insulation and rigid components are listed separately in the DuraFlex Stainless category.
