Summerset 12 inch Duct Cover for the 42 to 72 inch Vent Hoods: a sleeve that hides the duct above your hood
The Summerset 12 inch Duct Cover for the 42 to 72 inch Vent Hoods is a stainless steel sleeve that hides the duct above an outdoor grill hood. It slides over the exposed duct above the hood, so you see one column of stainless steel instead of bare duct. Stack two or three to reach a higher ceiling. Each section is 12 inches tall. One cover fits all four sizes of Summerset’s two motor hoods. It is built from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up best outdoors, and Summerset backs it with a lifetime warranty.
It goes on from the outside, so you can add it to a hood that is already up. Have the smaller hood? See the Summerset 12 inch Duct Cover for the 36 inch Vent Hood. The Summerset 12 inch Duct Cover for the 42 to 72 inch Vent Hoods ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
FAQ
Which hoods does this duct cover fit?
One SKU covers the whole upper range – the VH4272-DC fits Summerset’s 42, 48, 60, and 72-inch vent hoods. Only the 36-inch model takes a different cover, so for any of the dual-motor canopies, this is the matching piece.
How tall a duct run can it hide?
Each section stands 12 inches, and they stack – two sections for roughly two feet of exposed duct, three for taller pavilion ceilings, and so on. Count the distance from hood top to ceiling and buy however many sections the span needs.
Why hide the ducting at all?
Because the duct is the one raw-looking component in an otherwise finished install. Sleeving it in 304 stainless carries the hood’s lines cleanly to the ceiling, and it shields the duct from weather and grease while doing it – form and function in one part.
Is it hard to add after the hood is installed?
No – unlike spacer brackets, duct covers go on from the outside, sleeving over the exposed run above the canopy. That makes the VH4272-DC a realistic weekend retrofit for an existing 42-to-72-inch hood whose bare ducting has always bothered you.
What material is the cover?
304 stainless steel, matching the double-lined construction of the hoods it pairs with across our outdoor vent hood lineup. Same grade, same brushed character, so the joint between hood top and cover all but disappears once it is up.
Do stacked sections look segmented?
No – the sections are made to nest into a continuous column, which is the whole design intent of the stacking system. From across the patio, a three-section stack over a 60-inch hood reads as one tall chimney of stainless.
Is there warranty coverage on trim parts like this?
Yes – the Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty applies to the VH4272-DC just as it does to the hoods. Summerset warrants the visible architecture of the install, not only the machinery inside it – fitting, for a part you chose for its looks.
