The Videl Gran Plancha 30 Inch Griddle is a gas griddle for the cook who wants a flat top beside the grill or on its own cart. It has a 304 stainless steel body and a quarter inch thick steel cooking plate instead of grates. That gives you a place to cook eggs and other foods that would fall through a grill. Built in means it slides into a cutout in an outdoor kitchen island, so it has no legs of its own. Videl is the outdoor kitchen brand of The Outdoor Plus, which builds it in Ontario, California.
Two burners deliver 40,000 BTUs across about 495 square inches of cooking space. Each has its own knob, so one side can sear while the other stays low. What is a plancha griddle?
A plancha is a flat-plate cooking surface heated from below, and the Gran Plancha uses a thick quarter-inch plate that spreads heat evenly across its 495 square inches. It handles foods a grate cannot, from pancakes to smash burgers to seared steaks, which is why many people add one to an outdoor griddle station alongside their grill.
Can I set up different heat zones?
Yes. Two Onyx Pro U burners deliver 40,000 BTU in total and adjust independently, so you can run one side hot for searing while the other holds a lower temperature for gentler cooking or keeping food warm. The quarter-inch plate evens out the heat within each zone for consistent results.
Is a cover included?
Yes. Unlike many built-in appliances, this griddle ships with a stainless steel cover included, which the specifications confirm. The cover protects the cooking plate between uses and helps keep the griddle in prime condition outdoors year-round, so there is no separate cover purchase to remember at checkout.
What cutout does it need for installation?
Plan a cutout 28.5 inches wide, 11.5 inches high, and 24.5 inches deep; the griddle body itself measures 30 by 14 by 27.5 inches. The page notes it fits into any island cutout regardless of material, metal or concrete included, so it can drop into an existing island as easily as a new build.
How do I handle grease and cleanup?
Cleanup is designed in: a full-width grease tray catches drippings and spills across the entire plate, a grease outlet channels runoff, and a built-in splash guard keeps the surrounding counter cleaner while you cook. Scrape the plate toward the tray after cooking and empty the tray, and the surface is ready for next time.
Does it run on natural gas or propane?
Both are supported; the specifications list Natural Gas or Liquid Propane. Per Videl’s manuals, the griddle ships natural-gas-ready with the propane conversion kit included. Pick your fuel with the Gas Type selector on this page anyway – that selection is how our team confirms which configuration your island’s supply calls for.
Do I need to season the plate before cooking?
Treat the cooking plate like any steel griddle surface and follow the seasoning and first-use steps in the Gran Plancha manual, which is linked in the Manuals tab on this page. Regular light oiling after cleaning helps the plate develop a natural nonstick surface and protects it between cooking sessions.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
