SaunaLife EE8G: a six person wide barrel sauna kit with extra headroom and a glass front
The SaunaLife EE8G is a six person outdoor barrel sauna kit with a wider barrel than usual, giving you more headroom and deeper benches. The bronze tinted glass front and matching glass door are framed in black. A black painted base adds to the modern look. It is built from thermo-spruce, which is spruce baked in a kiln so it shrugs off moisture and needs little upkeep. Steel bands hold the barrel tight, and a black shingle roof keeps the rain off. The barrel is about 79 inches long and 91 inches across. Inside are smooth aspen benches with backrests. Two white LED lights dim from your phone or a remote.
The kit includes the staves, the benches, the glass front and door, the steel bands, the shingle roof kit, the black painted cradles and trim, the floor, the heater guard, and the LED lights. How is this barrel different from a standard barrel sauna?
It is the extra-tall design in the lineup: the interior measures 87 inches in diameter, giving about six feet seven inches of standing headroom, while the barrel itself stays a compact 79 inches long outside. That geometry suits bathers who find conventional barrels too low but do not want a longer footprint in the yard.
Can I heat it with wood, or only electric?
The room supports either an electric heater or a wood-burning stove, and a heater guard is included. How long does installation take?
SaunaLife engineers these barrels for simple DIY assembly, planned as a single day with two people. The kit ships with full-length staves, stainless steel barrel bands, the tempered bronze glass door and front glass, a floor kit, a fastener kit, two extra staves as spares, and step-by-step installation instructions to guide the build.
Do barrel saunas leak in the rain?
This one is built specifically to shed water outdoors. A black shingle roof kit installs over the barrel for a weather-tight top, a roof drip edge manages rainwater runoff, and dual floor drains carry away water from inside the room. The thermally enhanced spruce itself resists rotting, so the structure weathers changing conditions well.
Do barrel saunas hold heat well?
The solid Thermo-Spruce staves here are 1.6 inches thick, and SaunaLife cites industry-leading wall, bench, and backrest thicknesses along with the superior thermal resistance, the R-value, of thermally modified wood. The barrel shape also promotes even heat distribution and efficient airflow, so the room comes up to temperature and holds it during bathing.
What maintenance does the wood need?
Thermo-Spruce is a low-maintenance exterior that weathers nicely, and a 16.9-ounce bottle of paraffin oil comes in the kit to enrich and preserve the barrel’s luster. When it is time to refresh, the Wood Treatment selector on this page offers sauna wood wax, additional paraffin oil, and SaunaLife sauna cleaner by the gallon.
How many people fit inside?
Up to six bathers. Curved Thermo-Aspen benches face each other under the tall ceiling, and the premium arched backrest is shaped to support all body sizes, so longer sessions stay comfortable. A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
