SaunaLife EE6GB: a roomy barrel with raised seating and a fitted floor
The SaunaLife EE6GB is a four person barrel sauna kit for outdoor use. A raised bench and lower footrest give you a place to settle in, with a fitted floor beneath you and glass across the front. The interior measures 87.4 inches across, giving you room to stand upright. The B version includes black exterior paint that you brush on yourself. Allow a space 90.9 inches wide by 63 inches deep for the barrel. SaunaLife designed this model, and it is made by hand in Northern Europe.
The contoured bench and arched backrest are made from heat treated aspen. Bronze tinted glass lets daylight into the room. The kit includes a black shingle roof and white LED lights with an app and handheld remote. The heater is sold separately, so choose one of the 4 electric heater packages on the page, from 6 to 7.5 kW, each with its control and stones. Color lighting and a bucket with a ladle are optional. FAQ
What does the B in the model name mean, and do I have to paint it myself?
B means the SaunaLife EE6GB comes with two containers of black exterior sauna paint, and yes, you brush it on yourself after assembly. Follow the paint manual in the Manual tab and apply it only outside, never inside the hot room. The finish expands and contracts with the weather and will need fresh coats over the years to stay black.
Does this barrel come with a heater?
No, the heater is sold separately. The Select Heater add-on on this page offers four electric packages from 6 to 7.5 kW, each with controls and stones, which you can order now or buy later. Choose the higher kW option for a colder climate.
What electrical work does it need?
Your setup depends on your property and heater choice, so have a licensed electrician check the heater manual and provide a dedicated, hardwired 240 volt circuit. These heaters cannot plug in, use extension cords, or share a dryer, hot tub, or EV circuit. Outdoor runs need buried conduit and a weatherproof disconnect, and the LED power unit mounts outside the hot room in a weatherproof box you provide.
Will my feet be cold on the bench?
Your feet will be in cooler air than your shoulders because the barrel has one bench level. The 87.4 inch interior diameter, raised bench, lower footrest, and intake and exhaust vents help address that difference. A higher-output heater package from this page can reduce the temperature gap further.
Will it leak in the rain?
The included black shingle roof and drip edge rail help keep rain from seeping through the stave seams. Two floor drains let water escape. Small gaps between staves in dry weather close when the room heats.
Do I have to tighten the bands, and are gaps between the staves normal?
Yes, retighten the stainless steel bands after the first few weeks and check them each season. Hairline gaps are normal as the wood shrinks in dry or cold air and swells when heated, so do not caulk them. Two spare staves come in the kit.
What do I put under it?
The right base depends on your property: use firm, flat, level compacted gravel topped with pavers, a concrete slab, or a deck built to carry the weight. Check the weight listed in the Specifications tab when planning the support. Avoid bare grass or soil, which holds moisture against the wood, and make sure the base is level so the staves align and the door latches.
How long does assembly take?
About one day with two people is SaunaLife's estimate for assembling the cradles, staves, bands, door, and shingle roof. First-time builders often need longer. Plan the electrician's visit for a separate day.
Can it stay outside all winter?
Yes, it is built for year-round outdoor use. In freezing weather, heating often takes 45 to 90 minutes instead of 30 to 45 minutes, and the glass front loses a little more heat in deep cold. Keep the vents clear.
How is it delivered?
It arrives by freight truck on a wooden pallet, with curbside delivery by appointment. The driver lowers the pallet to the ground, so arrange for two or three people to carry the pieces to your assembly spot. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
