DuraVent DirectVent Pro 8×11 Kit Builder: choose a complete wall or roof vent run
The DuraVent DirectVent Pro 8×11 Kit Builder is our page for putting together a fireplace vent run. DuraVent doesn’t sell a packaged kit for this size. DirectVent Pro 8×11 is DuraVent’s large size pipe inside a pipe vent for big direct vent gas fireplaces, with an 8 inch exhaust pipe inside an 11 inch air pipe. First, choose a required pipe length: 12, 18, 24, 36, or 48 inches. Then tick the parts your fireplace needs. All additions are optional on the page, and the price reflects your picks.
A wall exit uses pipe, a 90 degree elbow, a wall thimble that surrounds the wall opening, and an outside wall cap. A roof exit uses pipe, a support plate, a firestop at each ceiling opening, an attic insulation shield, roof flashing and a storm collar to keep rain out, and a roof cap. Your fireplace maker determines the parts needed. Pipe ends lock with a turn, without gaskets or sealant unless the fireplace maker specifies them. Allow for 1 5/8 inches lost at each joint. Just need straight pipe? See the DuraVent DirectVent Pro 8×11 Pipe Length. The DuraVent DirectVent Pro 8×11 Kit Builder ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
How does the DirectVent Pro 8×11 Customize your Kit page work?
Start with a pipe length, 12 to 48 inches, which is the required first row, then tick the parts you need from the Build your Kit row: adjustable pipe, 45 and 90 degree elbows and elbow strap, wall thimble, firestops, vinyl siding standoff, support plate, attic insulation shield, wall strap, the three flashings, storm collar and the horizontal or vertical termination cap. Each line shows its price.
What is DirectVent Pro 8×11 for?
It is DuraVent’s large coaxial vent for gas-fired direct vent fireplaces in luxury homes and commercial spaces such as hotel lobbies and restaurants, with an 8-inch exhaust inside an 11-inch air pipe. It is UL listed to UL 2112 for use with ANSI Z21 / CSA certified direct vent gas appliances; the fireplace manual must list it as approved.
Does the vent need sealant or screws?
No sealant or gaskets unless the appliance manufacturer specifies them. Sections twist-lock, the seams are laser-welded, the design is hem-free and the elbows have swivel collars so an offset can point in any direction. The inner pipe is 0.016-inch 430 stainless steel and the outer wall 0.018-inch galvalume; terminations are stainless steel.
Which flashing should I choose?
Adjustable Roof Flashing 0/12 to 6/12 for shallow roofs, 7/12 to 12/12 for steep ones, or the Flat Roof Flashing, always with the Storm Collar. For a wall exit use the Wall Thimble, the horizontal firestop and, on vinyl or irregular siding, the stainless Vinyl Siding Standoff so the horizontal cap does not sit against the siding.
What clearance and support does the vent need?
Clearance to combustibles is specified by the fireplace manufacturer, as with all direct vent systems; use the vertical firestop at each ceiling, the adjustable attic insulation shield in an attic, the support plate to carry a vertical run and wall straps on long runs, with the elbow strap at every offset. Follow local codes and the fireplace manual for termination distances.
Can I mix this system with the smaller direct vent lines?
No. The 8×11 line is its own system for large fireplaces; 4 x 6-5/8 and 5 x 8 DirectVent Pro parts do not fit it. Everything in the DirectVent Pro 8×11 category is built to this size, including the stainless horizontal and vertical termination caps at the bottom of the parts row.
