DuraVent DuraBlack Stainless Steel Single Wall Stovepipe Kit Builder: choose each part in unpainted stainless steel
The DuraVent DuraBlack Stainless Steel Single Wall Stovepipe Kit Builder is a page for choosing individual stovepipe parts for your indoor run. DuraBlack Stainless Steel is DuraVent’s single wall stovepipe in unpainted stainless, the pipe that runs from a wood stove to the chimney inside the room. There is no paint coating that needs curing or touching up after a scratch. It connects wood, coal, oil, or gas stoves to a factory built chimney. Keep the pipe exposed in the stove room, not enclosed or routed through walls or ceilings. The chimney takes over at those boundaries.
Start with a 6 or 8 inch diameter to match your stove outlet, then select your parts. Straight pipe comes in lengths of 12, 24, and 48 inches. The telescoping section, which adjusts in length, is available only in 6 inch. Your total comes from the parts you choose, without a base kit charge. Allow 18 inches between the pipe and materials that can burn. Prefer black pipe? See the DuraVent DuraBlack Single Wall Stovepipe Kit Builder. The DuraVent DuraBlack Stainless Steel Single Wall Stovepipe Kit Builder ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is different about the DuraBlack Stainless Steel stovepipe?
It is the same single-wall connector pipe as painted DuraBlack, but made of .020-inch 430 stainless steel and left unpainted, so there is no black finish to cure, scratch or touch up. DuraVent offers the stainless version in 6 and 8 inch only, and it carries the same 18-inch clearance to combustibles as the painted pipe. Pick the diameter on the selector first.
How do I build a kit on this page?
There is no base price. Choose 6 or 8 inch, then tick the stainless parts you need from the Build your Kit row: SS Slip Connector with Trim, SS Telescoping Length with Trim (6 inch), SS single-wall pipe in 12, 24 or 48 inch lengths, SS Tee with Clean-Out Cap, 45 and 90 degree elbows and a Stovetop Adapter. Each line shows its price on the selector and totals as you go.
How much pipe should I select?
Measure from the stove collar to the chimney support box, remembering each joint loses 1-1/4 inches, and let the SS Slip Connector or Telescoping Length take up the remaining few inches so nothing needs cutting. The pipe diameter must match the stove outlet; DuraVent does not permit reducing below the appliance collar unless its manual says so.
How does stainless DuraBlack connect to the chimney?
The SS Slip Connector with Trim locks into a DuraTech support box and gives telescoping adjustment against the pipe below. For a DuraPlus support box the DVL/DuraBlack Chimney Adapter is needed, and for another manufacturer’s chimney use that maker’s single-wall adapter. Painted-pipe adapters are listed on the DuraBlack configurator if you mix finishes.
Can stainless stovepipe pass through a wall or be enclosed?
No. Like all single-wall connector pipe it must stay in the room with the stove, cannot be boxed in and cannot pass through a wall, ceiling or closet; a listed chimney such as DuraTech or DuraPlus takes over at the support box or wall thimble. Keep 18 inches to combustibles, or switch to DVL double-wall pipe for 6 inches.
Do the joints need screws or sealant?
Screws only: DuraBlack is fastened with three sheet metal screws around each joint and needs no sealant. Keep the run short and straight, install a Tee with Clean-Out Cap on a rear-exit stove for easy sweeping, and inspect the connector monthly during the heating season. DuraBlack pipe carries DuraVent’s five-year warranty.
