DuraVent FasNSeal Horizontal Unit Heater Vent Kit: four parts for a vent that exits through a wall
The DuraVent FasNSeal Horizontal Unit Heater Vent Kit is a set of four venting parts for a mid efficiency gas unit heater, the hanging heater found in a garage, shop, or warehouse. This kit takes exhaust sideways through a wall, not up through a roof. It includes an adapter to connect to the heater, an insulated sleeve for the wall opening, a 36 inch straight pipe, and a tee that finishes the vent outside. FasNSeal is DuraVent’s stainless steel vent for high efficiency gas boilers, furnaces, and water heaters, built to carry pressurized exhaust and its acidic condensate outside.
Choose 3 inch, 4 inch, or 4 inch with a drain built into the heater adapter. Unless the heater has its own drain, a FasNSeal drain belongs as close to it as possible. The horizontal pipe rises at least 1/4 inch per foot away from the heater so liquid flows back toward the drain. A gasket and built in locking band seal each vent joint. Want a closer look at the outside end? See the DuraVent FasNSeal Termination Tee wall ending. The DuraVent FasNSeal Horizontal Unit Heater Vent Kit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is in the FasNSeal Horizontal Unit Heater Vent Kit?
A Universal Unit Heater Appliance Adapter, an Insulated Wall Pass Through, a 36-inch straight length and a Termination Tee, the parts to vent a mid-efficiency unit heater horizontally through a wall. The FSCMK04CDB version uses an appliance adapter with an integrated condensate drain. Choose 3 or 4 inch on the selector to match the heater’s flue collar.
Which unit heaters can use it?
Gas-fired unit heaters in Categories II, III or IV (or Type BH in Canada) that are listed for a special gas vent and rated within FasNSeal’s 480 F and 15 inches water column limits; mid-efficiency, positive-pressure units are the typical match. The heater manual gives the vent size, the maximum horizontal run and the termination clearances.
Do I need the version with the condensate drain?
If the heater has no internal condensate drain, DuraVent strongly recommends a drain as close to the flue collar as possible, which is what the CDB adapter provides; a drain is also required for every 30 feet of horizontal run. Form a trapped loop in the drain tubing, secure it with a cable tie and dispose of the acidic condensate per local code.
How should the horizontal run be sloped and supported?
Pitch it at least 1/4 inch per foot back toward the heater so condensate drains and keep the seams on the vent lengths facing up. Support the run with hanger straps, join sections with the built-in gasket and locking band tightened snug plus a quarter turn, and pass the wall with the insulated pass-through from the kit.
What clearance to combustibles applies?
Per the FasNSeal manual’s Table 2 by rated temperature: for a 3 or 4 inch single-wall vent rated 300 F an unenclosed horizontal run needs 4 inches of clearance, more if enclosed, and the clearance space must never be filled with insulation. Extra lengths, elbows and drains are in the FasNSeal category.
