DuraVent FasNSeal Variable Pitch Flashing Kit: four parts to finish a vent above the roof
The DuraVent FasNSeal Variable Pitch Flashing Kit is a kit of four parts for taking a single wall gas vent through the roof and finishing it above. It brings together the roof flashing, which covers the roof opening, a roof jack, a storm collar, and a rain cap. The roof jack sits inside the flashing, and the storm collar seals the pipe where it meets that assembly. The kit suits roofs from flat up to a 9 in 12 pitch. FasNSeal is DuraVent’s stainless steel vent for high efficiency gas boilers, furnaces, and water heaters, built to carry pressurized exhaust and its acidic condensate outside.
Choose a size from 3 to 16 inch to match your vent. The vent pipe, firestops, and supports are sold separately. Plan for the vent to end at least 2 feet above the roof line and above any wall less than 8 feet away. A vent standing more than 6 feet above the roof needs extra support. Only need the roof covering? See the DuraVent FasNSeal Variable Pitch Roof Flashing on its own. The DuraVent FasNSeal Variable Pitch Flashing Kit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is in the FasNSeal Variable Pitch Flashing Kit?
A Rain Cap, a Storm Collar, a Roof Jack and a Roof Flashing, the parts that take a FasNSeal vent through the roof and terminate it. It suits roof pitches from flat to 9/12. Choose the vent diameter on the selector, from 3 to 16 inches; the VPKA variant adds a Universal Appliance Adapter with condensate drain.
Which appliances vent vertically with this kit?
Natural gas or propane Category II, III and IV appliances and Canadian Type BH systems rated to 480 F and 15 inches water column: condensing boilers, furnaces, water heaters, pool and booster heaters and unit heaters that are listed for a special gas vent. The appliance manual sets the maximum vent height and how many elbows are allowed.
Do I need a condensate drain on a vertical vent?
DuraVent requires a drain at the bottom of a vertical stack and every 30 feet of horizontal run when the appliance has no internal drain, installed as close to the flue collar as possible with a trapped loop in the tubing. Use the VPKA version of this kit for the adapter with drain, or add a Universal Condensate Drain or drain tee.
How is the flashing installed?
The roof jack and flashing are placed with the upper part under the roofing, up slope from the vent, and the storm collar seals the pipe above the flashing. Vent joints use the built-in gasket and locking band tightened snug plus a quarter turn. The rain cap counts as equivalent length in the appliance’s vent calculation, 7 feet for a 3-inch cap per the manual’s chart.
What clearance and enclosure rules apply to the vertical run?
Clearance follows the FasNSeal manual’s Table 2 by rated temperature, for example 1 inch on an unenclosed vertical run at a 300 F rating for 3 to 4 inch single-wall vent; 5 inch and larger vents that are enclosed need non-combustible enclosures. Outside one- and two-family homes a vent passing other floors needs a fire-rated enclosure. Pipe lengths are in the FasNSeal category.
