DuraVent PelletVent Horizontal Kit: a through the wall vent package in one box
The DuraVent PelletVent Horizontal Kit is a venting package for a pellet stove exhausting through the wall behind it. It brings the parts for that common route together in one box. You get five 12 inch pipe lengths, a stove outlet adapter, a tee with a removable cleaning cap, and a 90 degree elbow. A wall sleeve, pipe support strap, and round outdoor cap complete the kit. PelletVent is DuraVent’s double wall pellet stove vent: a stainless steel inner pipe inside a galvalume outer pipe, sold in 3 and 4 inch sizes.
Choose the 3 inch or 4 inch kit. The larger kit includes an adapter that connects to a 3 inch stove outlet. The pipe must extend at least 6 inches beyond the outside wall, with the cap pointing down. Keep the route short with few turns. Long, cold runs collect more moisture, so DuraVent favors keeping the vent indoors. The tee behind the stove opens for brushing. Check the vent monthly during heating season and clean it at least yearly with a plastic or flexible steel brush. Need more pipe? See the DuraVent PelletVent Straight Pipe Length. The DuraVent PelletVent Horizontal Kit ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is in the PelletVent Horizontal Kit?
This is a complete through-the-wall package: a Round Horizontal Cap, a 90-degree elbow, a Wall Strap, five 12-inch pipe lengths, a Tee with Clean-out Tee Cap, a Wall Thimble and an Appliance Adapter. The 4-inch version adds a 3-to-4-inch adapter/increaser. Unlike the PelletVent Pro horizontal kit, the 5 feet of pipe is already included.
How is PelletVent different from PelletVent Pro?
Both are double-wall pellet vents listed for 1 inch of clearance in the USA and Canada and rated for continuous 570 F flue temperatures. PelletVent uses a stainless inner wall with a galvalume outer wall and twist-lock joints; PelletVent Pro is the newer laser-welded line with an O-ring seal and a wider parts range. Do not mix parts between the two lines; DuraVent installs each as its own system.
Should I order the 3-inch or 4-inch kit?
Match the stove’s flue outlet and its manual: 3 inch suits most pellet stoves, while many manufacturers call for 4 inch on longer runs or when several elbows are used. Choose the size on the selector above; the 4-inch kit includes the 3-to-4-inch increaser so it still fits a 3-inch collar. The vent must never be smaller than the appliance outlet.
How does this kit run through the wall?
The Appliance Adapter leaves the stove, the tee turns the vent toward the wall with the clean-out cap at the bottom for sweeping, and the elbow and pipe pass through the Wall Thimble. The pipe must extend at least 6 inches beyond the exterior wall before the Round Horizontal Cap goes on, and the cap points downward. Fit the Wall Strap above the tee for support.
Do the joints need screws or sealant?
Sections twist-lock together and screws are not required; if you want them, use 1/4-inch sheet metal screws and never penetrate the inner liner. The PelletVent instructions say 500 F RTV sealant may be required at the vent joints and at the appliance connection, so follow the stove manual, and seal the thimble to the wall with a non-hardening waterproof sealant.
Which fuels can PelletVent handle, and what clearance does it need?
It is a multi-fuel vent for stoves burning wood pellets, corn, cherry pits, switch grass, coffee husks, walnut shells, soybeans, wheat, sunflower hulls, rapeseed, sugar beets or oil, with a corrosion-resistant super-ferritic inner wall. Keep 1 inch of air space to combustibles throughout and follow the stove manual’s own clearances; the rest of the PelletVent line is listed separately.
