Osburn 2000 wood stove: a freestanding heater with the blower included
The Osburn 2000 wood stove is a freestanding wood stove for your home. Osburn rates it for 500 to 2,100 square feet, so it can heat an open living area or most of a smaller house. It is Osburn’s most popular stove, with a cast iron door that was redesigned in 2018. It stands on the floor on a hearth pad, the fireproof panel that goes under a stove, and vents up through a stovepipe into a chimney.
Load it up and turn the air down, and it burns up to 8 hours. At full burn it puts out up to 75,000 BTU. The blower, a quiet fan that pushes the heat out into the room, comes with it. It burns dry, seasoned firewood. You pick the door overlay on the page, the trim around the glass door, in black or brushed nickel. You also pick how it stands: on legs or on a pedestal base. An outside air kit, which feeds the fire air from outdoors, is optional. You can add a glass ash lip that catches sparks, a firescreen for open door fires, or a hearth pad, and more on the page. Heating a bigger house? See the Osburn 3500 wood stove. The Osburn 2000 wood stove ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.
FAQ
Is a blower included with the Osburn 2000 stove?
Yes. Osburn notes that the 130 CFM fan is still included with this model, so fan-assisted heat distribution comes standard rather than as an add-on. A quick connect thermodisc and modular floor protection are the items offered under Other Accessories on this page.
Do I choose legs or a pedestal?
Yes. The Pedestal / Legs selector is a required choice: black traditional legs come standard, with a pedestal, straight legs and brushed nickel leg styles as upgrades. The stove ships on freight supports that are removed at installation, so it needs one of these to stand. Note the fresh air intake kit differs for legs versus pedestal.
How big a space does it heat?
The recommended heating area is 500 to 2,100 square feet, with a maximum heat output of 75,000 BTU/h and up to 8 hours of burn time from the 2.4 cubic foot combustion chamber. Osburn says the 2000 remains one of the most popular Osburn wood stoves year after year.
What changed in the 2018 redesign?
Osburn redefined the design in 2018 and set new emissions standards for it: the 2.4 cubic foot combustion chamber and the same power stayed, emissions came down to around 2.3 g/h, and a new cast iron door brought a more youthful look with elegant lines while keeping the spirit of wood heating.
Can I customize how it looks?
Yes. Refined door overlays in black or brushed nickel (a required selection, black being standard), new leg designs and a glass ash lip with integrated ash pan are all offered on this page, along with a rigid firescreen, black steel or glass hearth pads and modular floor protection.
How efficient is it?
On dry cordwood cut to 16 inches it delivers 72% average overall efficiency (HHV), 79% optimum overall efficiency and 76% optimum heat transfer efficiency, with an overall heat output rate of 14,200 to 44,500 BTU/h depending on how you set the air control.
