Superior VRT/VCT4000Z: a vent-free gas fireplace with a blower built in and Boulder Mountain logs
The Superior VRT/VCT4000Z is a vent-free gas fireplace built into the wall. It comes in two widths, 32 and 36 inches. Pick the size on the page. A two tier burner gives you yellow flames at the back, a glowing center log, and a flickering ember bed in front. It puts out up to 25,000 BTU on the 32 and 33,000 BTU on the 36.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Vent-free means it needs no chimney or vent pipe at all, and nearly all the heat stays in the room. The burner, ember bed, and grate come with it. A variable speed blower is built in and comes on by itself when the firebox warms up. On the page you pick the Boulder Mountain concrete log set for your size. It is required. You also choose the ignition. Millivolt has a standing pilot and needs no electricity. Electronic ignition comes with a touchscreen remote. You can add a vintage brick liner on the 32. Check your local code first, since some areas restrict vent-free fireplaces. Need something smaller for a shallow wall? See the Superior VCM3026 vent-free fireplace. The Superior VRT/VCT4000Z ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What sizes and heat outputs does the VRT4000Z offer?
32 in and 36 in models on the Size selector, rated 25,000-17,000 and 33,000-20,000 BTU at 99.9 percent efficiency. Framing is 34-7/8 in wide by 36-3/4 in high by 16-1/4 in deep for the 32 and 41-1/2 by 40-1/2 by 20-3/4 in for the 36. A heat-activated variable-speed blower is factory installed on both.
Are the logs included?
The log set is a required choice on the Gas Logs selector: the 18 in Boulder Mountain concrete set for the 32 in model or the 24 in set for the 36 in model, so the base price covers the fireplace and the matching logs are added there. The two-tier burner, ember bed and integrated grate are built in, and a vintage brick ceramic liner is optional on the 32.
Millivolt or electronic ignition?
Millivolt (remote-ready, no electricity needed, works in a power outage) or electronic ignition, which includes the illuminated touch screen multi-function remote. Choose on the Ignition selector. On the millivolt version, the Remotes and Switches row adds an on/off remote, hand-held thermostat remote, touch screen remote or wall switch.
Does a vent-free fireplace need a chimney?
No; nothing runs through the wall or roof, which is why the series suits remodels. It draws combustion air from the room, so the installation manual’s ventilation-air check decides the largest input the space supports, and local codes may restrict vent-free appliances (some states bar them from bedrooms). See more ventless gas fireplaces.
Natural gas or propane?
Both are offered on the Fuel selector; the Specifications tab lists the N (natural gas) and P (propane) models for each size and ignition type, so the burner ships set for your fuel. No conversion kit is listed on this page.
What is the difference between VRT and VCT in the name?
VRT is the radiant version and VCT the circulating version of the same firebox; the listing ships the VRT4032ZMN SKU shown, and both share the factory blower, burner and log options. Ask us before ordering if you specifically need the circulating VCT face, since the selectors do not offer that choice.
